I obviously absolutely love Barkley...but this comment is really, really dumb.

I know hes just trying to give the current bulls their props, but yeah the bulls ONLY had michael (9 time first team all defense), Scottie (8 time first team all defense, 2 time second team all defense), and a guy who will get into the hall of fame purely because of his defense in Rodman (7 time first team all defense, 1 second team) and Horace who was himself a 4 time all second team defensive player. Has he forgotten that the bulls held Malone and Stockton and company to 54 points (then a record low for ANY game played) in game 3 of the 98 finals? But yes outside of ONLY starting 3 of the greatest defenders of the 90s (if not all time), Luc Longley wasn't the dominant inside force Patrick ewing was.

BTW randy brown was certainly an above average defender, and ron harper won't be remembered as a poor defensive player by any means

Don't forget the team with Horace also had Bill Cartwright, who was one of the best defensive centers in the NBA during his time.

Just the recency fallacy. The Bulls' performance on Sunday was really, really impressive, so it's easy to remember all of the glorious details of that over what happened 15 years ago.

I wonder what package the Bulls would have to put together to get Dwight Howard.

I wonder how the 2010/2011 Bulls who are up 1-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals can finish off the Heat and compete for the NBA Championship.

Seriously, let's save the "what ifs" for postseason. This team is too much fun to get speculative.

I would easily gut the Bulls entire roster (minus Rose of course) for Dwight Howard.

We're on the verge of winning it all without him and you'd get rid of everyone for one guy? I'd disagree with that move.

I just want a damn SG who can play better than Bogans.

I'd even settle for Shane Battier. Affalo would be ideal, but he's an RFA.

I would love to see what the Bulls can do with somebody like Ray Allen. My god that would be unfair.

Especially after one of the biggest factors in Sunday's game was their strong bench and their ability to rest their starters.

Can get a guard considerably cheaper.

But who cares its not even close to the offseason and we have no idea what the CBA will look like next year.

I also would be fine with drafting a guy like Etwaun Moore in the 2nd.

I like Moore, but do we need another big man?

You guys are so literal sometimes. I don't think Buehrle > Wood meant he would trade 11 players for Howard. He meant that any combination of players that it took to land Howard sans Rose would be acceptable to him. And I agree. In Rose/Howard, you would have one of the most devastating PG/C combos in the history of the game. You set yourself up for a string of title runs. Not just a flash in the pan (hello, White Sox).

I dont think Steve was being literal at all, I think he meant that if you have to give up Noah/Taj etc for Howard, is that a cost that makes sense. After watching this team with its interchangeable parts, do you really want to change the entire dynamic?

The more I read about the Bulls and Rose, the more I feel that they should just keep this team as is. Improve on the core, instead of trading away pieces of the core for more "superstar".

Howard is a monster, but Im not sure if he fits in with the dynamic of this team.

Is this a sick joke? Do I have to offer a rebuttal to this? I demand a mod ban me right now.

What makes you think this team is built for a one year run like the 2005 Sox? I don't get that impression at all. In fact, with the youth on this team it seems that it's built to be a powerhouse for years to come.

You can go back 290 pages and see how little I thought of Noah, but watching the Bulls play and watching the failure of the Magic, Im just not sure if there is a point in having Dwight Howard at the cost of turning into a team with much less depth.

With the new CBA, Howard/Rose could potentially have to be surrounded by a cast worse than the Heat.

I just see no reason to contemplate this while the Bulls are a serious contender this year.
