I understand the theory behind that but who the hell knows how to build a car?

The one I've usually heard is "Describe how to make a PB&J sandwich."

I'm not quite sure how that's the same question as a turtle's biggest accomplishment though...

This is exactly what I thought.

1st item is checking to see if you can create/write and read/understand requirements and documents and make them work for software development. Similar question sometimes asked is, "explain to a cave man how to build a car".

Second item is ripped off from an annual contest among writers, I forget who runs it, but its the same thing. Some of my fave words I've heard from thatt:

The Dopeler Effect - the idea that stupid ideas are somehow smarter when spoken very quickly

Deifinestration - throwing all talk of God out the window

Doltergeist - a spirit that decides to haunt some place stupid, like your toilet

DIOS - the one true operating system

Or something like that.

Yeah that was from the Washington Post, i like Giraffiti - vandalism written very very high* LMAO

Good work, Marko!

Keep us posted!

Thanks!

The one I just had was an initial screening by their HR folks. It went quite well.

The in person interview yesterday was a final interview. I should hear back pretty soon on their decision.

I was just informed by my employer that effective July 1 my time and pay will be cut 25%. A co-worker of mine will also be receiving the same treatment. She, however, is doing TWO peoples worth of work since one of our co-workers is out due to cancer treatments. CLASSY! Real classy!

Anyone know of any open IT jobs for someone with 5 years of basic IT experience?

Provide me with more specifics of what you have experience in. Or just forward me a resume. I can see if we have any openings and pass it around to colleagues.

Hi everyone!

Still a "newbie" to Soxtalk, even though I signed up almost 6 years ago (wow, that time sure flew by!)

Saw this thread and it's a great thread. I want to wish everyone the best of luck in the job hunt. I have also been off since April, 2010 (so it's 13 months now) and this is easily the worst time I can ever remember as far as the job market. Anyone else recall the days when you would fill out an application, get called the next day and start the next week?

Anyway, I am looking for HR/office work. I am hoping to have an interview or two coming in the next 2-4 weeks, but if anyone knows of any opportunities, please feel free to contact me!

Roosevelt offers night classes for MBA classes. I am getting my masters in I/O psychology right now and I believe the MBA classes run along the same timeline 6-8:30 pm.

I have my master's in I/O but I picked an online school and that's not going too well for me. Hope Roosevelt works out for you. I have a friend who got her I/O master's from Roosevelt and she is working as a psych researcher, working with stats/SPSS quite a bit.
