witesoxfan
And yet the f***ers keep on winning. It's like their bad personnel decisions never come back to bite them in the ass bad enough to the point where they lose the division. greg775
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) He just walked away from $12 million. Wow. Lot of talk about this in KC. People are furious at Glass for inheriting the 12 million bucks. Also Meche is getting praised for not reporting to ST and complaining of the sore arm and still getting to keep the 12 mill. It'd be hard for many people to not do just that. What's your take on Mr. Meche giving KC the 12 million instead of just showing up for spring training with a rag arm, being unable to pitch and being put on the DL?? My take is it's pretty f***ing commendable of Meche. And the owner, Glass, should purchase whatever remaining arms their are on the market, cause KC's starters are pure s***. Pretty much all the remaining arms on the market are pure s***, and they aren't going to compete this year. They may as well take their lumps and bring guys up throughout the year instead of spending the additional money on guys who aren't going to do anything for them. If they have rotation room though, it makes a lot of sense for them to grab a fringe starter or two. Not only might they get lucky and get a good season out of them and gets some extra wins, but they can also deal them at the deadline to whoever needs pitching depth

I really REALLY hate the minnesota twins and their fans... Not an unhealthy hatred like I want something bad to happen to them, but I hope they never EVER win. They have surpassed my loathing for the red sox and the yankees. It felt good to see them go down in flames to the yankees AGAIN last year. Well maybe it is an unhealthy hatred, but so what. I hate those f***ers.

Not only might they get lucky and get a good season out of them and gets some extra wins, but they can also deal them at the deadline to whoever needs pitching depth As of right now, they have Jeff Francis, Luke Hochevar, Bruce Chen, Kyle Davies, Vin Mazzaro, Noel Arguelles, Aaron Crow, and Sean O'Sullivan who can all start games. Bringing in another pitcher with that excess money would be a waste of a resource. Their pitching isn't good, but they have quite a few guys who they need to see if they can prove something. witesoxfan
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 04:44 PM) It's hard to not hate the player though. Because the argument will always be that he needs to play up to his contract, even though it's not fault he was given a contract that he had no chance of actually earning. Actually, it's going to be easy not to hate the player because Teahen is a very likable guy. It's not his fault that Williams and company gave the extension And what is he supposed to say when approached with a deal that will give him financial security for life? "No, I'm not going to be worth this contract." C'mon. People should be upset with Williams and solely Williams. And as a bench player, Teahen won't be bad. He's a decent hitter and can play multiple positions.
Jordan4life_2007
Reds sign Cueto to a 4-year, 27 million dollar deal. Covering all of his arbitration years and one FA year. Not a bad move at all for the Reds. Cueto is one of those guys with tantalizing upside. If he ever fully realizes it, this could be a steal for the Reds. As they'll save a lot of change and get a FA year out of him for below market value. Even if he stays the exact same pitcher he is right now it will be a good move.
