Jordan4life_2007
This is just a random guess...Andrus, Young, Kinsler, Hamilton, Beltre, Cruz, Moreland, Torrealba, Bourbon. That lineup is beyond sick. Not to mention the defensive excellence that will be on display. Edited January 5, 2011 by Jordan4life

That lineup is beyond sick. Not to mention the defensive excellence that will be on display. I don't think Young, Beltre, Andrus and Kinsler can co-exist in the same lineup. If Beltre does sign I'm not sure how they can manage unles they trade Young but that 16 mil price tag will make it tough.
knightni
They'd have to send a team at least 8 mil a year for Young.

Didn't he have some dumb rumor like a month ago that he was sure about. Like some sort of Fukudome swap I think.
Balta1701
Braves and Uggla are about to agree on a 5 year, $62 million deal. Probably pretty close to market value given his production, still a pretty high salary for them to hand out though considering how much that team seems to avoid the long-term deals lately. Balta1701
Dominican Republic — Authorities in the Dominican Republic have accused a baseball scout of fraud and of falsifying documents to obtain professional contracts for talented players. Police said in a statement Tuesday that the arrest of Victor Baez is part of a new push to investigate scouts they say are selling false hopes to young players. Baez has for many years run a well-known development program for local standouts that have gone on to play in the United States. Police did not identify any players that might be involved in the case and refused further comment. "We have been working very hard to implement reforms that will improve the environment for conducting the business of baseball in the Dominican Republic," said Rob Manfred, Major League Baseball's executive vice president of labor relations. "Today's action by the Dominican authorities is a positive step that the commissioner's office truly appreciates." Link
ChiliIrishHammock24
Red Sox claim Max Ramirez from Rangers, and DFA Matt Fox. I wouldn't mind if the Sox took a flyer on him. Couldn't hurt, and he had at least decent peripherals at AAA for the Twins last year.... http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=fox---001mat

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 07:42 AM) Braves and Uggla are about to agree on a 5 year, $62 million deal. Probably pretty close to market value given his production, still a pretty high salary for them to hand out though considering how much that team seems to avoid the long-term deals lately. You know, I know the Phillies are the overwhelming favorite to win the NL east. But there's a lot to like about the Braves. Let's start off with that Jason Heyward guy. I just can't see a sophomore slump with him. His skill set and mainly his plate discipline are just too good. Meaning he should be even better in '11. Which is scary. Uggla is a massive upgrade at 2B over the fluke that was Omar Infante. Alex Gonzalez can still pick it at SS. If Chipper can come back and show he's got anything left in the tank, that's an added bonus. You could then move the underrated Martin Prado to left. Freddie Freeman destroyed AAA last season and will get his shot. They've got that McCann guy behind the plate. Only position really lacking is in CF. Then you got a young, budding ace in Tommie Hanson, Hudson, Lowe and Jurrjens who combined for a 3.80 ERA last season. One of Brandon Beachy or Mike Minor, two highly touted pitchers who dominated in the minors and showed flashes in the majors, will round out their rotation. Their bullpen should be sick with Venters, Kimbrel, Moylan, O'Flaherty, Sherrill and Linebrink. And they have a bevy of premium pitching 'spects should they choose to go out and make a splash mid-season. ChiliIrishHammock24
Will Ohman has narrowed it down to 3 AL teams. He is a real good strikeout pitcher, who had a good 2010, he just needs to fix that walk issue he has.
