No f***ing contest, my friend. Keep in mind Konerko was hit in the head by a pitch earlier in the game, I just assume he hit the 2nd while suffering from a severe concussion.

(the 2nd was off Borowski)

That homer comes up every year, and every year I remember the best avatar in Soxtalk history. It's of that homer/pose with a subtitle saying "Konerkowned".

In recent White Sox history, nobody had a better bat flip than Tadahito Iguchi.

I dunno, I love the legit TCQ bat flip. Iguchi's has some braggadocio, TCQ's flip had that plus it was so emphatic. He'd launch that bat.

One-time high-ranking Chicago White Sox executive David Wilder today pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges that he solicited hundreds of thousands of dollars in kickbacks from impoverished Latin American prospects hoping to make it in the Major Leagues.

Not sure if it needed it's own thread.

PK's stance is SO different these days. That old one looks weird.

So, you are telling me that twice in his career Konerko has been hit in the head with a pitch, only to come back and hit a HR later in the same game? He's just a badass.

I'm not one to get into name calling and I have never met Dave Wilder nor have I heard much about him. That said, unless he is being set up and taking the fall for someone else, in my book he is one "scumbag" of a human being. How far has he set the White Sox organization back with this? He has at least drug the reputation of the White Sox organization through the mud.

We share the same sentiments.

I was at Fatty's in DeKalb senior year of college... it was summer so the town was at like 15% of capacity. A buddy and I arranged a softball game that afternoon, and the whole group went to Fatty's after that "game" to watch the "game". This is one of my all-time favorite White Sox moments.

Ozzie is on with Ranger, and it sounds like Ozzie has had a change of heart about the lineup. He originally said Dunn would bat third, but now he's saying it's Rios--which is perfect to me.

This is what he just said the lineup will be if all goes well:

Pierre

Beckham

Rios

Dunn

Konerko

Quentin

Pierzynski

Ramirez

Morel or Teahen (but we all know it's Morel)
