caulfield12
There's just no way they should even be voting without getting a CBO preliminary scoring first...the ACA deliberations took 6-7 months, whereas this has basically been a 2 week process, and less than 24 hours without a CBO reading for the 'revised' House bill. That's crazy, when you look at the potential impacts on tens of millions of Americans. Edited March 23, 2017 by caulfield12
StrangeSox
Some freedom Caucus members also want pre existing conditions rules removed. https://twitter.com/jbarro/status/844776309372837888 I have no way whatsoever of relating to these people's thought processes. Dick Allen
Don't drug companies still make billions upon billions of dollars even with the evil Obamacare in place? These politicians are so in bed with the lobbyists, you know something is up when Eli Lilly (a company wherer one of my best friends is pretty high up) is basically masterbating at the thought of it being repealed and replaced. Billions aren't enough. Only people that can afford to get well should get well.

StrangeSox
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 01:56 PM) Is there a Medicaid program only for pregnant women? How long do they get to stay on now? There currently no work requirements for Medicaid. You can stay on it as long as you're poor enough to qualify. The AHCA introduces work requirements to Medicaid (among many other terrible and damaging changes). That means if you're on Medicaid and you lose your job, you also get to lose your health insurance. Or, if you're pregnant and not working, you also get to lose your coverage shortly after giving birth. edit: for a pretty good example of the harm work requirements can cause, check out what the end result of the 1990's welfare reforms were when the economy collapsed in 2008. Lots of harm, no real benefits. Edited March 23, 2017 by StrangeSox

StrangeSox
I can't imagine that showing the hard right Freedom Caucus you're willing to negotiate practically anything with them is going to be a good thing for the GOP or the country long term. Remember that this group is the same group that's 100% okay with blowing up the entire world economy by forcing a US debt default, and we're already into the Treasury using "extraordinary measures" as we've already hit the debt ceiling. https://twitter.com/PattyMurray/status/845001919034732544 Senator Patty MurrayVerified account @PattyMurray Senator Patty Murray Retweeted Vice President Pence A rare look inside the GOP’s women’s health caucus.
