Balta1701
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) Any reasonable government would but they gotta erase the black guy's legacy. More so than that...many of them genuinely believe anyone who isn't wealthy enough does not deserve health care. It's either personal responsibility that you got cancer, or there aren't enough doctors (and they should serve my family and not less important ones), or it's too expensive and we just have to choose to leave some people out, or costs will make people ration care if they have to bear those costs. StrangeSox
Study: Trump actions trigger health premium hikes for 2018 https://www.apnews.com/cc6b335865e24a4b843d...ium=AP_Politics WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration’s own actions are triggering double-digit premium increases on individual health insurance policies purchased by many consumers, a nonpartisan study has found. The analysis released Thursday by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that mixed signals from President Donald Trump have created uncertainty “far outside the norm,” leading insurers to seek higher premium increases for 2018 than would otherwise have been the case. This is 100% correct http://www.businessinsider.com/european-di...th-obama-2017-8 European diplomats also told BuzzFeed that they think Trump's foreign policy doctrine is driven primarily "an obsession" with undoing former President Barack Obama's initiatives. "It's his only real position," one official said. "He will ask: 'Did Obama approve this?' And if the answer is affirmative, he will say: 'We don't.'" The official added: "He won't even want to listen to the arguments or have a debate. He is obsessed with Obama." Trump became extremely angry and obsessed with the fact that we had a black President and has waged war on him since.

If Nevada's governor had signed that state's Medicaid buy-in option, it'd be much lower. Obamacare’s Bare County Problem Looks Solved, for Now Now, every county in the nation has at least one insurer currently willing to sell coverage for next year. The bare county problem had been an unplanned policy hole in Obamacare, which depends on private companies to provide insurance to people who don’t get coverage through a government program or work. The federal government provides subsidies on a sliding scale to help middle-income Americans pay their premiums, but it does not force insurers to offer coverage if they don’t want to. For a while, it seemed there would be a smattering of mostly rural places in the country where no company saw a reason to participate in 2018. StrangeSox
They're apparently trying to take another shot at repealing Obamacare via Graham-Cassidy. Repeals the mandate, turns Medicaid into a block grant program (destroys funding long-term), allows insurers to charge higher premiums for pre-existing conditions. Balta1701
This is going to get a grand total of 2 minutes of debate because they used up all the debate time on the bill they have to slot it into. As of now, "regular order" john McCain is ok with that amount of debate over 1/6 of our economy.

StrangeSox
An interesting feature of Graham-Cassidy is how it takes money from states that actually took Medicaid expansion and redistributes it to states that didn't. Cassidy said it's "unfair" that states that took the expansion get more money. Hmm, I can't think of a really simple way to fix this, unfortunately... e: Ron Johnson also chimes in with the "it's unfair that states that voluntarily took more money get more money than states that did not" hot take Edited September 19, 2017 by StrangeSox
