Which is why y'all have paid back the government every other tax credit you've received in your lives, right?

right after they pay me back for all my money they have taken and wasted.

So then you have no problem with the government creating this tax and tax rebate, as long as this program is successful in controlling health care costs. Great.

No one is forced to buy anything here, unless I've been forced to buy a house (and I'm a renter, so no I haven't).

If I do not cash in the mortgage interest deduction tax credit, I am paying a higher tax rate. Under the exact same standard you used, agreed to by the Chief Justice I might add...I'm being forced to buy a mortgage. Which is confusing since I don't have one.

i'm too hung over to follow this logic. but i will attempt to.

so, using this logic, people that get tax credits for having kids is the same thing as forcing me to have kids? anyways how are you being forced to buy a mortgage?

and I have decided Roberts is a corrupt shill

Semantics, again, but you aren't being charged MORE for not owning a home, homeowners are being charged less. For the Obamacare tax to work that way you should be gettign a tax break for owning insurance, not being taxed because you don't.

So wait...there is a difference between me being charged more than you and you being charged less than me?

Fascinating.

That's why this bill was constitutional right there.

None of you even know what your arguing about anymore.

Just responding to the silly reasons like "It's an impingement on freedom" and "The finger thing means the taxes!" for why it's so evil that poor people get to go to the doctor.

I know a young couple whose child was born at 2 pounds and needed some surgery early on. The bill? $997,000.

Conversely I know of a guy who was in Europe traveling and needed some emergency procedure in the hospital. The bill? $0.

Please, tell me about our healthcare system and tell me why what we have is better than Europe? Educate me, please.

Lol, incredibly rare situation involving a pre pre term baby needing round the clock care from specialists =/= some emergency procedure.

Oh, and since this country is so morally and ethically bankrupt when it comes to healthcare, i'm assuming this baby is now dead because if you can't pay medical bills you're just thrown out on the street to die. I see that happen all the time.

So in other words the exact same thing it does now, except raise everybody's taxes first and then give credits for people who have insurance. Identical outcomes. Identical tax receipts. But somehow this is better?

Yes, because then you can't hind behind the farce of it NOT being a tax increase. Kinda like putting that computer on sale for 10% off, after you jacked it up 20% first. Any way you slice it, the tax burden that is now there was NOT there before. So this bill increased taxes.

If the CBO's estimates are correct, the mandate penalty will raise $25 billion over its first 10 years.

Yeah it does. So what? I'm happy to pay an extra small percentage to guarantee that I have health coverage. That's just awesome.

And if the CBO's estimates are correct, the cost of this will be trillions over what it was initially. So what.
