southsider2k5
SI_JonHeyman execs believe zack greinke probably will be traded (rangers 1 interested team), and if so, why not trade soria, too?
sircaffey
I would deal both if I were the Royals. They could be Tampa Bay-esq in 3 years. Adding the elite pieces in return for Greinke and Soria to Moustakas, Hosmer, Butler, Myers, Montgomery, Lamb, Duffy, Dwyer, Colon...Scary. ThunderBolt
I really wonder if there's a match to be had here between the Royals (Greinke) and D-Backs (Upton).
striker
I hear a lot of talk about KC's farm system. Is it stronger on the offensive side or pitching?

They're not winning a thing next year or the year after that. May as well cash in on the few assets they have. QUOTE (striker @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) I hear a lot of talk about KC's farm system. Is it stronger on the offensive side or pitching? Both. They're extremely balanced right now. They've really stepped it up in this department since Moore took over in '06. sircaffey
I'd say when BA comes out with their top 100 list, you'll see 3 prospects in the top 10, 7 in the top 50, and 9 in the top 100. That'd be before the Greinke and Soria trades.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Both. They're extremely balanced right now. They've really stepped it up in this department since Moore took over in '06. I'd say their much stronger on the offensive side.

Don't know about "much" stronger. But either way they appear to be loaded.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) I really wonder if there's a match to be had here between the Royals (Greinke) and D-Backs (Upton). KC is on Upton's no-trade list and I don't think Arizona is going to want a pitcher who is 2 years away from free agency and pretty expensive. Absolutely. For the haul that it is going to take to get Greinke, you will have to be thinking about the dollars it will take to keep him.
