ozzfest
Is it possible he will be our starting first basemen? Or is he going to be DH?
kjshoe04
QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) Is it possible he will be our starting first basemen? Or is he going to be DH? DH most likely if we re-sign Konerko. Could be 1b if we miss out on a first baseman.
joeynach
Its pretty obvious he will be a primary DH, which is fine by me, you DO NOT want this guy in field more than the occasional start. You do want either Konerko or DLee to be your 1B. Interesting thing is for the price of Konerko (assume $12M) you can have DLee (assume $7M) and AJ or Putz (assume $5M). Which do you want. Dunn has no business in the field whatsoever unless we're playing in an NL park. But our manager is Ozzie Guillen.
Springfield Soxfan
Agree with everyone else 100% DH, maybe some outfield in the NL parks.

scotty22hotty
He wasnt that bad at 1b last year... He'll probably see 33% playing time at 1b
kwolf68
How much worse defensively is Dunn than Quentin?
SoxFan562004
all rumblings have it sounding like he'll be a majority DH, but presser tomorrow could shed more light. I have a gut feeling if they miss out on PK they'll sign Lee, Pena or LaRoche or something of that ilk.
Jerksticks
The more 1B Dunn plays the less for our backup first basemen Viciedo. He needs to find ABs too.
soxrwhite
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) How much worse defensively is Dunn than Quentin? exactly!
Balta1701
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) How much worse defensively is Dunn than Quentin? Dunn hasn't played the OF in a couple years. However...the last time Dunn played the OF, he was just about as bad as Quentin.
Y2HH
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) Dunn hasn't played the OF in a couple years. However...the last time Dunn played the OF, he was just about as bad as Quentin. But unlike Quentin as of late, he makes up for it with the stick. MattZakrowski
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) How much worse defensively is Dunn than Quentin? He might be the only living person who is worse than Q.
DirtySox
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:30 PM) The more 1B Dunn plays the less for our backup first basemen Viciedo. He needs to find ABs too. If Paulie resigns, I'd wager Viciedo is traded in the near future. Even if the Sox do hold on to Dayan, he needs to work in the minors on many of his glaring deficiencies.
