Molto
wow they now have 10-15 million dollars to spend on the free agent market, that is after keeping the team that won the world series. it is still weird knowing they won it all. it is a big turn for baseball. in a couple years, you'll see the playing field even up a lot, if not this season. I agree, it still sounds weird saying Anaheim Angels and World champions in the same sentence. Maybe it will even up enough for the Sox to sneak on in......Uh-oh I said something optimistic, WATCH OUT!
RedPinStripes
It is going to be REAL weird referring to them as the "defending World champs" when they come to Comiskey to hand our ass to us.
Chisoxfn
From what I hear in Anaheim they are basically going to resign all their guys to long term deals and then maybe look for a starter as well as a starting outfielder.
awesomefan
RedPinStripes: Hopefully the White Sox won't have your attitude to assume the Angels will romp all over the Sox this year. This doesn't sound like you Mike. Don't you have high hopes that The White Sox will rise again?

Why would they want a starting outfielder? Anderson in LF is pretty good defensively and their DH is filled...his bat is too valuable to their offense to not have him in. Erstad is a gold glover in CF...why would they move him? And Salmon is pretty good too...he has a great arm...he's getting older, so he may be slowing down, but he's their best all around RFer right now...that is a move I don't understand....another starter I can understand, somewhat...they got Washburn, Ortiz, Appier, and Lackey and then they have Mickey Callaway and Scott Schowenweis as their other starters, though Schow looks to be staying in the bullpen...don't they have faith in their minor league starters? If that's the case, look for Callaway to be moved in a deal somewhere...that'd be my guess anyways.

If he was, they do have Shawn Wooten to take over as their full-time DH...he can also catch a little and play a little 1B, but they won't need either as they have gold-glove(or should be gold-glove...Speizio was frickin robbed of the gold glove this year by stupid as John Olerud) players at those positions...Wooten has the potential to hit .300 20 75 for them. That's decent, if you ask me. In other news, how the hell did Jamie Moyer get 3 more years? That boggles my mind....he's 40 years old and will be starting when he's 42-43? I think he may be in the bullpen by the end of his career.

Mickey Callaway ain't going to be their and Schoenweis will stay in the pen. I'm not sure why. I don't think they are going to pick anyone up to be honest. They aren't sure whether Salmon is going to be able to do it, so they are looking for an outfielder so Salmon can DH and they will then move Fullmer or consider it. baggio202
id like to get scott schoenweiss but his agent is scott boras...so nix that idea:****
witesoxfan
I forgot about Sele...the fact that he is a huge choker in the postseason and the fact that he wasn't even on the postseason roster was one of the reasons I forgot about him...but he ain't a bad #5 in the rotation...hell, he'd be our #2 or #3 and that's the truth too. We're like the Randy Quaid character in Major League 2..... well, maybe me more so than RPS. But we both realize that where JR treads, not much in the way of playoff baseball is going to happen.
