Jerksticks
I don't know how you guys can just capitalize the word "cubs" so carelessly. 7 years of talking baseball on the internet and I still can't do it. Makes me sick
Brian
Seriously? A press conference for Wood's return? He is living off a legacy of one game.

He is living off a legacy of one game. Do you mean his chokejob in game 7 against the Marlins? God that was such a wonderful night. I seriously might not be alive today had the Cubs won. Suicide was an option. Well not really. But you get the point. I will ALWAYS love those pesky '03 Marlins. Well, except for Juan Pierre. I actually just loved that Marlins team in general for some reason(looking back on it now, I have no f***in clue why) before they even met up with the Cubs. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Hey, he hit a homerun that game! I actually just loved that Marlins team in general for some reason(looking back on it now, I have no f***in clue why) before they even met up with the Cubs. I'll say this much, I felt like my TV was shaking when Wood hit that HR. I've never heard a stadium that damn loud. I would've went deaf had I actually been there. I literally yelled out loud after the HR "f*** IT! THE MOTHERf***ING CUBS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!" I just assumed they had destiny on their side or some s***. And then Alou hits his HR? I shut that b**** off until I was alerted by a friend that the Marlins had taken a 6-5 lead. Edited December 17, 2010 by Jordan4life
Steve9347
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) If Sarah Palin offered you triple your current salary to work for her, would you desert your current position? Uh. f*** yes I would.
Dick Allen
Supposedly the Yankees were prepaired to offer Wood $10 million over 2 years.

The coverage on the radio yesterday was priceless. Jurko was trashing him pretty good as it being a riding off into the sunset and becoming an ambassador for the rest of his life. He is the new Ron Santo in my book.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) The coverage on the radio yesterday was priceless. Jurko was trashing him pretty good as it being a riding off into the sunset and becoming an ambassador for the rest of his life. He is the new Ron Santo in my book. That's exactly what I thought when Wood signed. Who knows, maybe he has a deal to take Santo's chair when he's done playing. He'd make probably at least triple what Jurko is making, get almost 6 months a year off, and would be able to do it for as long as he wanted. He obviously doesn't need the money, so he's the guy who gets the last laugh at everyone trashing him.
