God I wish Ozzie knew how to take a high road, just once.

Jenks was out of line with his initial comments, the comments Oney popped off about. Konerko insinuated earlier he was fed up with the Ozzie/KW feud and we all know what Bobby said about Oney was putting it very gently. What I don't understand is players leave teams all the time, and several of them pop off, but the Sox have a manager who pops off, a manager's son who pops off and a GM who has popped off about ex Sox players. I don't know of other GMs or managers or managers' sons who pop off except for one team.

Ozzie said he lied for Jenks, but he always spouts off how he only tells the truth. So I guess I don't understand that either. I agree with you, if Ozzie has a problem with Jenks he doesn't need to go to the press with it. He made it seem like he tried to contact him but because everyone thinks Jenks is an ass no one had his number. Didn't Oney supposedly contact him after his latest twittergate? Couldn't he have asked Oney how to contact him? They are shacking up together in AZ.

Its really nothing new, but I agree with you, I wish the Sox as an organization would just keep quiet. If it were so important to keep quiet while he was on the team, bringing up old stories just to try to make him look bad would be silly, and considering how Ozzie initially left the organization in 1997 saying a lot worse than Jenks, and the many things the White Sox hid about Ozzie during his playing days, I don't know why Ozzie just can't let it slide, especially when he knows his punk kid is fueling most of Jenks angst.

I also don't think this is going to go over well with players, regardless of their feeling for Jenks one way or the other. This is Ozzie doing essentially what Oney was doing, making public a player's personal life and stuff that should've remained behind closed doors. To me it smacks of serious trust issues, not to mention maturity.

I actually don't really have a problem with it. From the sounds of it, Jenks wasn't exactly a class citizen last year and has been a problem for a while. On top of that, the White Sox took him in, coddled him, and apparently lied for him and let him get his life situated. He had the nerve to talk a lot of crap about the White Sox organization and the Sox need to take care of their reputation above all. Ozzie letting the world know that Jenks is in the wrong is fine by me, and really, I don't think that the White Sox players mind it.

Hopefully it does die down shortly though.

Games with Boston will be interesting now too.

There isn't an employer on the planet that is perfect for everyone and there isn't an employee on the planet that is perfect for every company. Doesn't make either party wrong, or right. It makes for nice theater. I imagine Ozzie and Bobby are both bored with the usual routine of spring training, so they have this to play with. Reporters have something easier to write about than someone's fastball or new workout plans. Keep talking guys, it brings real games here faster.

I have not seen one Sox player defend Jenks.

It has been pointed out often that the Sox were covering for Jenks often and Guillen backed him 100% to a fault.

Maybe he cleans up his act maybe he doesn't but he really has no room to criticize the Sox they gave him plenty of opportunities and he got $12M now STFU.

How many have defended Ozzie? Konerko seemed to allude to off field stuff and Thornton definitely was saying Oney was way out of line. Whether Jenks is right or wrong, and I believe he was wrong (although his latest comments were nothing, and if they bother Ozzie so much, he's getting way too thin skinned) not commenting on it goes a lot further than acting like an 8 year old.

No question about it, it is really distracting and bad for the club. I just dont understand why he can't figure out to be an adult and manage the club like a professional. Write a book after you get fired if you need to soothe your ego....

Guillen is not the problem here. Both times this crap has started that fat tub of goo opened his damn mouth first. It seems pretty damn obvious to me that Jenks got his wittle (not a typo) feelings hurt and now is acting like a petulant 12 year old girl. Grow the F up already. It's a business.

The problem is Yas, the "It's a business" flows both ways.

I just can't see how ozzie responding at this point makes the Sox business better.

Sometimes, you have to address things whether or not you want to. I'm sure Ozzie would prefer that he didn't have this issue but he does, through no fault of his own.
