Breakout star Michael Cera? Ugh, I'll never understand it.

He's the same person in almost any movie, but he does fit that role well. He is the perfect person to play George Michael Bluth.

I guess you can say he does it well, but I haven't been able to stand him in anything. He has the acting range of a rock.

He's a good role actor, not a good leading actor.

He's a terrible actor.

Edit: That is a bold, underlined period in size 7 at the end of that sentence.

I will never understand the appeal of Michael Cera, Jesse Eisenberg and Jay Baruchel. They all play the exact same character in every f***ing movie. It's not endearing or charming or funny. It's just annoying and played out at this point. Take an acting class for f***'s sake.

That is very true, and he was outstanding in that role. It is pretty much everything he has done since then that has shown he is rather limited in his range.

I have to confess that even though I'm a HUGE AD fan, I am very skeptical about a movie version coming out six years after the show was canceled. I think I would rather see them try to pull off some sort of reflexive/postmodern stealth reunion like they did with Seinfeld on Curb Your Enthusiasm a couple of seasons ago. Not to steal Barry Zuckerkorn's thunder, but I think the show jumped the shark and a film version isn't going to hold a candle to the series.

Went to see the movie Paul over the weekend. Solid. Had some funny parts.

I'm curious to see what kind of reviews Sucker Punch gets.

I thought Paul was pretty damn good. Like I've said before, I loved Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I figured Paul wouldn't be on the same level, as it looks like it's more of just a movie Pegg and Frost are in together, but had little to do with making it. That was pretty spot on, good but not great like the others.

I remember on an episode of the Sopranos, Tony is watching an old gangster movie. I'm not sure what it is, but here is a rough description of the scene they show. It looks to be the final scene, but a mother is waiting for her son (a gangster) to return home. The doorbell rings and, when the door opens, the son is there seemingly wrapped in a sheet or gauze and probably dead. He falls into the doorway.

Does anyone know which movie this is?

"The Public Enemy" (1931) — CLASSIC Cagney, and honestly still one of the best gangster films ever made.

The thing is that I was pretty sure it was a Cagney movie, and I had just gotten done watching White Heat. So, I looked up the ends to the two other really famous gangster movies he was in (Angels With Dirty Faces and The Public Enemy) on Wikipedia, but only read the very ends of the plot because I thought it was the final scene. Neither one of them said anything about that scene, so I came here to ask.

White Heat was f***ing awesome, though.

In the grand scheme of things dirt isn't really that old... after all the planet took a while to cool and make some land.

If you'd like, I can direct you to some several hundred million year old dirt.
