Green Lantern, not as good as Thor, but the complete disaster that critics are falling all over themselves to describe.

Still, odds are at least 50/50 that the suggest sequel at the end of the movie never gets made....not with that $300 million plus budget.

My first thoughts when the movie started 1) aren't there just one too many superhero movies in the marketplace this year? and 2) I can't believe audiences are putting up with the 3-D upcharges without significant viewing experiencement enhancement.

Overall, I thought Reynolds was pretty close to the perfect actor to cast in that role. Blake Lively, I found myself wishing she went back to blonde hair...I guess fighter pilots/corporate executives with blond hair can't be taken seriously unless they're Pepper Potts.

It kind of felt like a cross between Thor, the Star Wars movies (the Jedi training sequences) and Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystall Skull.

I also couldn't believe that the same director responsible for CASINO ROYALE put this movie out there, with an immense budget. The four screenwriters working together (one of them originally was going to direct) kind of turn this whole thing into a hodge-podge, but it was still "watchable." I wasn't thinking it was Speed Racer or something that was just immensely, egregiously bad.

Overall, the international box office and opening weekend might save the franchise, but don't count on it.

With all that said, I think Reynolds (like Hemsworth as Thor) did as good a job as possible with the material in front of him. He has qualities that an actor like Chris Evans doesn't possess on screen, although perhaps Captain America will change my mind. At least in Fantastic 4, he really irritated me. Reynolds, like George Clooney, has that way of being smug and overconfident...but still being likeable at the same time.

MONEYBALL TRAILER

Wish they would have picked someone besides Jonah Hill as the DiPodesta character, and Hoffman as Howe? Well, it looks like it COULD be pretty decent.

Yeah I'm definitely intrigued by this one. Very interested to see how the casting works out.

Super 8 was amazing. It was a complete and blatant rip-off of E.T., sure, but I fail to see how that is a bad thing.

I liked it, but wasn't hoping to love it. I just wish there was maybe 10-15 more minutes added to the story about the monster part of the movie.

Brad Pitt is a great actor...sort of inexplicably, but he is...he's just one of those actors where if he is in the movie, no matter how bad it should seem to be, it will at least be worth your time. Same with Denzel, Tom Hanks, etc.

I'm pretty stoked for this now actually.

Yes, I would've liked more about the monster. With regards to showing the monster, they did it perfectly. At first you saw nothing but knew it was there, then extremely quick glimpses followed by slightly longer shots, and then the full look at it. I could've just used a quick explanation or theory as to why it was there and perhaps why the Air Force was so hell-bent on not letting it leave.

I really don't like Mark Wahlberg, but my brother made me realize that I like almost everything he's in. So, I don't know why I dislike him so much.

I think Andy Sambergs lampooning of his tendencies in movies sums up why I dont like him for the most part.

Although I loved him in the other guys. Especially the parts where he is in total disbelief at how women throw themselves at Will Ferrell

I was cracking up at this, and now I laugh everytime I see your avatar. Though, the dancing one may be even funnier.

The dancing one was extremely funny, but I loved the strut. Really though, the comments on that movie breakdown had me in tears

Or the Family Guy skit. Mark Wahlberg is confused and angry.

Thankfully, another summer movie coming out soon (before Transformers, Harry Potter and Twilight show up in the marketplace) that looks like it will be a surprise sleeper hit.

Unfortunately, I've never taught in a school where any of the teachers are able to afford getting boob implants before...or with a co-teacher who looked like Cameron Diaz. Although there's always hoping.

Is this Kasdan that's directing the son of Lawrence Kasdan? Has to be. That is one of my all-time favorite directors.

Are you kidding? It's a union job. I'm sure those health care plans cover implants. Unions are destroying the world to get teachers boob jobs.

Maybe the MLBPA can get Juan Pierre a boob job so we can transition him to another line of work.

Super 8 was quite good. Maybe not as awesome as I had hoped, but still a well above average film.

X-Men, I really don't get why people liked it. The dialogue was beyond clunky, the plot lines so very predictable, the characters often shallow and not believable (I don't mean the mutations, I mean the personalities).
