Again, what is the big deal? Hell if anything this is easier for you to ignore because all of the relevant information is located in the topic title and description. Instead it turns into a chance for you to lob some more cheap shots at people for no particular reason, over nothing. Why the attitude when anyone dares question you anymore? If you want to be edgy and bitter, you really should expect it. That's the way Soxtalk has always been.

SS2K5, I don't mind getting policed if the thread requires that, really no biggie. I learned my lesson a while back about becoming too negative in this place so it is cool. As a matter of fact I always ask for threads to be merged, renamed, etc.

It really doesn't. But if you say so. I'll make sure to keep tabs on all Yankee minor league pitching transactions from now on so I can immediately start a thread when a signing occurs.

God you've been annoying this off-season. What the hell's been up your ass?

Whatever you say. The ignore button is there for a reason. I made a simple observation. It wasn't a big deal to me. Those that responded made it a big deal. Nobody attacked the guy. I've seen quite a few threads created of late that clearly weren't thread topic worthy. People used to tease Jabroni about this all the time.

I'd rather have more threads about less important topics than have interesting tidbits getting lost in the catch-all threads. For example, I rarely check the catch all because there are just so many pages and there's no way to know ahead of time whether I'll be interested. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I must be retarded or something because I can't find Colon's numbers against the Sox.

I seem to remember them hitting him pretty hard when he was with the Indians.

9-6 in 19 starts, 4.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP. Sox had a .261 average with a .739 OPS

I wonder if Jon Heyman is going crazy over this... he said Hal Steinbrener had a top 5 off-season because he overruled Cashman on Soriano and he handled the Jeter situation well... he might make him #1 now with this signing!!

Seriously, he's #3 and there's not one comment about them completely whiffing on every major FA they went after especially Red Sox snagging Crawford... guess he needs the NYY fans to up his hit count!!

Wow, that is pretty bad.

IMO:

1. Jays

2. Brewcrew

3. Phillies

4. White Sox

5. Red Sox (don't like the Crawford deal)

6. Cubs

---

30. Texas Rangers, for losing Cliff Lee following a franchise-defining season and then failing to seriously upgrade the starting staff

like your list, I would just swap Brewers and Jays, just because I am more of an immediate payoff type and the fact that the Crew knew Prince is walking and went all in this year and made Gallardo their 3rd starter was damn impressive! Not to mention I think Saito was a nice under the radar signing.

I agree, the Brewers had a terrific offseason, and I'm only putting the Jays first because that Wells deal was an act of God that single-handedly saved a franchise. But that move took place in LaLa Land, and if you want to talk about real, Earth- and reality-based baseball moves, the Brewers have had the best offseason. I love every move they've made. Miller Park is going to be pretty fun this year.

It's just my opinion, but Gallardo could still very well be that team's ace, at the very least their number 2.. His stuff is beyond electric. I watched all 3 starts of his starts vs the Cubs last year and I thought immediately that this guy could challenge for a CY in the very near future.

I agree 100%. I'd rank him above Greinke. He got tired at the end of last year, which skewered his numbers a bit, but he definitely has ace stuff and is only gonna turn 25 next month.

true, he's an awesome pitcher... I should have phrased it differently, those three starters are extremely impressive.

I know what you meant. Honestly, other than Kershaw and a healthy Strasburg [i'm so bummed we won't get to see him this year], there's not a pitcher in the NL 25 and under that I would take over Gallardo.

Might as well give you a few more possibles. Madison Bumgartner, Tommy Hanson.
