p**** storm.

Although it allowed me to go to Girl and the Goat with no issue tonight as well as drive to a few bars. Thank you blizzard.

Heard there were some bars running some crazy deals tonight in the city. If only I wasn't so far f***in north I definitely would have made an effort to get down there.

Well so far we have had two storms this year worse than what we have seen so far. The heavy snow might still kick in, but by Michigan City standards, this is pretty average.

No, it's not worth it for some cheap drinks. The driving conditions here are brutal right now.

Lot of people stranded on LSD going north right now and have been there for hours. Ouch.

A friend of mine left work on the south side at 3. She lives in the Uptown area, she's STILL on lake shore.

ps. Waiting on that e-mail from my internship saying that the office will be closed.

So you're saying it's bad out there?

That is crazy. I'm really hoping my office is close tomorrow, not so much because I don't want to work but more so that I just have no desire to go out in what is obviously going to be still awful conditions tomorrow morning.

Grand Rapids has been getting pelted just as bad as Chicago. Grand Valley State canceled all classes at about 6 PM ET. Only the 3rd ever snow day they've called in 50+ years. So ya, it's bad.

Things didn't start getting bad here until about 7 PM. The first few hours was just blowing snow, making a ton of drifts, but since then, we've gotten a lot of snowfall. Not sure how many inches, but the drifts are getting ridiculous. Nonstop snow with 40+ mph winds is nuts.

As for family back in Chicago, well, my mom and sister got a hotel downtown to avoid driving home on LSD. Smart choice.

Would've left real early and taken the metra but ya overall, just not worth it, hence why I didn't do it.

Anyways, there's gotta be close to 2 feet of snow just piled up against my garage right now and I have to figure out a way to get my moms car out of the garage so she can go to work. This is no fun.

I think people forgot that we live in Illinois and that it tends to snow from time to time. Stuff like this always reminds me of Y2k when everyone was freaking out about computers and clocks and the world ending. AHHHH! It's just snow I don't see the big deal.

:lolhitting

Ok tough guy.

I'm just happy I made it home from Aspen yesterday. I was already cancelled on Monday. Nothing like working 15 hour days for 11 days and then getting stuck when you are finally free to go home. I had to do a lot of shuffling as I was supposed to go through ORD, but I ended up going ASE, SFO, CLT, RDU.

walked through the loop at 7:45 am this morning....say what you will about what happend on LSD last night, but every single street was plowed in the loop, and 95% of the sidewalks were cleared, so I have to really commend the city of chicago ....only thing missing were the millions of people to enjoy the cleared streets

Good to know. I'm about to put some plastic bags on my shoes and head out.

Also props to comed for my power still being on. 60 mph winds are nothing to f*** with, but adding snow...damn. I was happy when it was my plugged in alarm that woke me this morning.

Took me an hour and a half byut the hardest snowblow is over. Just have to keep up. Damn drifts were a pain. Had to knock em down with a shovel than use snowblower.

Our door is nearly covered, i'm gonna have to go down our scary back stairs.
