it's bridging the gap these days. the tricky thing about doing it at home, is it requires either bands or adjustable weights. the weights are expensive, but just work better than bands. so many people use the bands their first time or two through, then want to graduate to weights, but don't have the $300+ to throw down. That's where gyms come in. And some people just like a gym atmosphere better than home.

I'm big on having separate spaces for everything I do, so I understand the gym atmosphere sentiment. My bed is for sleeping, my desk is for working, my couch is for relaxing, etc etc

I'm doing hot yoga tonight (and weekly moving forward) to prep my old (29 year old) body for the coming basketball season. Anyone have experience with this? I'm looking forward to the experience.

I don't know what it is, but you should probably post pics

Anyone have experience with the steroid Dianabol? Theres a personal trainer at xsport that tells me he has a supplier. I'd like to get a Clay Matthews body the way that Clay Matthews did it.

dude don't kill yourself like that. it's not worth it. unless you want to have a dick that doesn't work and die when you're 50

If you're seriously considering it, I can talk you through some of the very basic things and how to at least evaluate a reliable source of information. I'm not afraid to say in the open though that you should not even consider it unless you're a very experienced lifter and are having trouble maintaining progress.

Also, steroids can be used with no lasting side effects if used correctly. Most folks have a very hard time sticking to a logical plan once they start though, even if they had a supplier that was nice enough to point them in the direction of someone that knows what they're doing.

I had one of those amazing gym days where for some reason, everything you normally press to do, came easy, and I was seemingly way stronger than usual.

So, in celebration of one of these rare days, I give you a very simple weightlifting tip that I share with few...and as simple as it is, it WILL increase your weightlifting session productivity...

Tip: When you bench press, or do overhead presses, or even back exercises (pullups, rows, etc.), pull/push from your elbow, NOT from your hand/wrist. While this tip seems innocuous, it makes a huge difference in targeting the muscle groups your actually trying to target. Your body will naturally try to push everything from your wrist, so next time your in the gym, visualize pushing or pulling from your elbow instead...and see the difference.

It's like magic.

Who wants a 10-15 min cardio/strength workout????

YES!! I knew you all did. I thought I'd share this out as I do this when im on the road and a co-worker wondered how I got so sweaty in 10 min.

Its called: Burpees from hell

You have about 15 min to train and then shower and go to dinner.

First: Stretch hammy's and quads and anything else that is tight. You should stretch everyday anyway.

Then, put a timer on for 10 min, you will be working out essentially every min. Your goal is 10 burpees in under a min. if you are advanced you can do a pushup when down on the floor, if you suck you dont even need to jump at the top. Once you finish 10 burpees you have the rest of the min to "rest". As soon as the next min starts you have another 10 to do. Do this for the entire 10 min.

Thats it. Easy way to burn a few hundred cals in under 15 min. You can modify the burpees to change it or even make it hard but you are talking about cardio, little strength in glutes and chest.

For those that do not know what a Burpee is, it's called a Squat Thrust in the US.

1. Begin in a straight standing position

2. Drop to squat position with your hands touching the floor

3. Extend your feet back in a quick motion into a pushup position

4. Return to the squat position

5. Jump straight up/land

6. Repeat

No, I don't really know where Burpee originated.

No, I don't really know where Burpee originated.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the exercise was named in the 1930s for American physiologist Royal H. Burpee, who developed the Burpee test. He earned a PhD in Applied Physiology from Columbia University in 1940 and created the "Burpee" exercise as part of his PhD thesis as a quick and simple way to assess fitness.[2] The exercise was popularized when the United States Armed Services adopted it as a way to assess the fitness level of recruits when the US entered WWII. Consisting of a series of the exercises performed in rapid succession, the test was meant to be a quick measure of agility, coordination and strength
