greg775
Folks, I still like our chances, but the Royals aren't going away. Their schedule is much easier than ours and Sweeney is due back. We need to beat them 2 of 3 this week.
SoxFan1
Ditto! But we need another sweep. We can afford to lose!
Soxplosion
Umm, I know theyre not leaving. Theyre beating us. I wish theyd just die but they wont. Were gonna have to beat em. And if we make the playoffs, were going nowhere. This team cant play with the big boys...

Bmr31
Anything can happen in the playoffs. True. With confident and smart teams. Neither of these qualities do we posess...
Cali
What do you mean "they're beating us" The Sox have the edge in the season series, and since the sweep at the beginning they are 5-1 against them. As long as we beat them head to head, the division is not out of reach. And anything can happen in the playoffs
Rowand44
If this team could some how get into the playoffs I think they would fair pretty well, the playoffs is all about pitching, and loaiza, colon, and buehrle would be pretty nice in a short series, but this team needs to make it there first so I should just shut up. witesoxfan
If we get to the playoffs everything is fair game...Who thought the Twins and Angels woulda beat A's and Yanks last year? Exactly. Not many people realize it, but no team that was favored to win won a playoff series last year, and you can't include the Angels as favorites because with all the upsets and the fact that both the Giants and Angels were Wild Card teams, it was quite weird(I would have said the Giants were favored to win, mainly because of Bonds and an equally good bullpen, and after game 5, it seemed like the Giants almost had it locked up....anything can and will happen in the postseason). It was definately pandemonium. I don't care if you won 70 games or 120 games in the postseason, because once you get to the postseason, you are all 0-0 once again. cwsox
Exactly. greg775
The Royals play the Rays 4 times next weekend while we play Oak. Not good. We do need to take care of business vs. KC somehow again. I tend to agree with Roman about the playoffs. Hopefully Manuel will put Frank back at first base. Why did he f*** with Frank?? Let Konerko DH for gosh sakes. HOpefully our momentum hasn't been killed.
cwsox
did anyone really believe we were going to go undefeated in August and September? Saturday we just plain lost - today we gave up runs on dink ball, tons of dinky little hits - just didn't fall our way - one week ago had anyone said we were going 4-2 on this road triop, that would have been wonderful - momentum killed? my friends, this is a 162 game schedule with more ebbs and flows than some seemingly imagine maybe it is because I have seen more baseball than some of you, or use less drugs, or something - just because we lose 2 in seattle does not mean we plummet to the bottom of the standings - if you watch JM long enough, he tends to pull and rest his starters when something has been done (such as go 4-1 on a road trip already) and just before something needs to be done that he wants badly - that's what he did today - what is an "easier" schedule that anyone else has? You all expect everyone to roll over for KC? Every game they play is against a major league team, same as us. Beginning of the season people said twinkies had it easy againt NY because Jeter was injured - then NY killed them - you can never predict how these things will go - what was it, in 2000, that the yankees sucked all through september and then won the world series easily? We lost two games, that is all - we have made up 5 games since the all star break - what more in reality could you expect - yes, if we won them all we'd be 105-0 or something but get real - I hope the players have more willingness to look to a good future than our poor mouth fans
