Jordan4life_2007
And that's an Orioles winner! Lead down to 1 1/2 games. And the Adam Dunn version of pitching, John Lackey, is going for Boston in game 2.

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) I want to revel in this, but can't until Tampa is ahead. Very true. This does bring back horrific memories of our near September collapse in '05. I'd gloss over and enjoy any Red Sox message board you can find and at least revel in their current misery. Rowand44
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 03:17 PM) Very true. This does bring back horrific memories of our near September collapse in '05. I'd gloss over and enjoy any Red Sox message board you can find and at least revel in their current misery. Big, big difference though. Through September 19th in 05 the White Sox were 10 and 8 in that month, the Bo Sox are 4 and 14 right now this month. We weren't collapsing, the Indians just weren't losing, Boston on the other hand is in a free fall at the moment. Lets hope it continues! Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) Everytime I have watched a Pence AB the past two weeks, I dont think I have seen him make an out. Can't stress enough how happy I am he's out of Houston. What he's doing now shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that's consistently watched him play (have seen plenty of him over the years whenever Houston played the Cubs). What he's doing now shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that's consistently watched him play (have seen plenty of him over the years whenever Houston played the Cubs). I remember when KW tried to get him (+ another player and spect) for Garland, but the Stros GM wanted to part with Tavares instead at the time. Oh, what could of been.. (then again.. who knows how'd he fare in the AL and with Walker)

Swingandalongonetoleft
Papelbon gives up 3 runs and the lead in the top of the 8th. Sawks have dropped 2/3 to the O's. Unfortunate about what happened in NY. Could have been a thing. Edited September 21, 2011 by Swingandalongonetoleft
flavum
Rays miss an opportunity to move closer. Red Sox and Braves may both make it, but I wouldn't put money on either making it out of the first round. Swingandalongonetoleft
Theriot puts the Cards on top with a double, more runs added afterwards 11-6 Cards. I think I'd be more surprised at a wildcard berth for the Cards than I would be for the Rays. Still hoping SF wins that division so I won't have to see Diamondbacks baseball in October. Don't know what it is about that, but I would rather watch post-elimination teams than the division leading D-Backs. smalls2598
Here's some crazy trivia sure to make Jordan4Life happy: Kershaw and Lincecum have faced each other 4 times this season, with Kershaw winning all 4 times. And in those four games, courtesy of ESPN: "Lincecum's ERA in those four starts was 1.24. Kershaw's was 0.30. And that, as Robert Frost once wrote, has made all the difference, especially given that the Dodgers won those games by scores of 2-1, 1-0, 2-1 and 2-1." That's pretty amazing. Kershaw is now 20-5 on the year, with a 2.27 ERA, 0.99 Whip, and 242/52 strikeouts/walks. Does he win the Cy over Halladay or Lee??
