BUT OZZIE AND RONGEY SAID ONE PLAYER DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!1111!!1!!!!11!!

My favorite part about this is that Ranger's current line apparently is that had Dunn and Rios played like they were capable of the Sox would be fine.

Well if the iceburg hadn't been there, or if the ship had been equipped with enough lifeboats, the Titanic would've been fine, too.

If Dunn and Rios were having balls-out all-star caliber seasons and Lexi and Beckham were getting a TON of clutch hits and taking the next big steps in their careers, yes we'd have been OK.

Don't know if this has been mentioned at all or if there's any draft picks that will be held over to next year do to not signing but we're currently 11th in draft order and 2 games back of the #8 Dodgers. But yeah, playoff push!

I really think we can get into the 5-7 range

I'm just hoping the team doesn't go on a surge upon being eliminated from playoff contention. We all know Ozzie doesn't like to play the kids, even when his opponents all are. I will just keep my fingers crossed that they fall in the top 15 and get a protected pick.

So our great scouts can take a great second baseman prospect like Beckham?

Much better chance of not f***in up when you have the 3 pick compared to the 8th(in Beckham's case) or the 10th or the 15th, you get the picture...

Beckham had tremendous trade value a year and a half ago, Sale currently has good trade value and the same could be said for any highly touted player we take in the top 10 next year. You can say a high draft pick has a good chance of busting, I say at the very least a high draft pick has good trade value within a year or 2 of being drafted if he puts up decent numbers in the minors kind of like #13 pick Brett Wallace (Matt Holliday) and #5 pick Drew Pomeranz (Jimenez). Not to mention Justin Smoak (Cliff Lee) and Zack Wheeler (Carlos Beltran) who were traded 2 years after being drafted.

Just so we're clear, you despise this entire organization sans ozzie, correct?

I'm just pissed Beckham is not developing at what I consider a good rate.

He's good defensively which is nice I guess, but the man does not look like anything more than an average hitter.

Second basemen as you know are a dime a dozen so to speak. Beckham may still be a top prospect but he's been underwhelming this year. His approach at the plate also concerns me. I think his batting approach is in contention for third worst on the team behind Rios and Dunn.

He certainly projects as a worse player than Ray Durham at this point I would think and I liked Durham. I mean if he continues like this, who is Gordon Beckham - a Grudzalanec (sp)? Who? He does not look like an elite hitter to me.

Can we just classify it as a bad year? Or that he's still learning? I hope so.

You don't see any hypocrisy in what Ranger is saying?

Okay Greg....

With KW and Ozzie and Walker all still around, what percentage of faith do you have that Beckham will ever again look like the same hitter as 2008-2009 with the Chicago White Sox Professional Baseball organization?

I'm not confident at all.

I see a guy with a weird batting stance with a hitch in his swing who doesn't find gaps anymore and makes a lot of outs and can't hit a high fastball.

It's scary, really. He's not looking real good.

At this rate I would be shocked if we didn't. This team has completely packed it in, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't win 20 games the rest of the year, particularly since there are lots of games remaining against division opponents who have slapped us around this year (Twins/Royals/Tigers).
