oldsox
I see where Jeremy Reed is still hanging in there. He is a non roster player with Brewers and having a great ST so far. Candidate for 4th outfielder gig. Hope he makes it, and I'm curious if Sox offered him same opportunity since he ended 2010 with Charlotte. maggsmaggs
I remember when I wouldn't trade this guy for a in-prime Ty Cobb. Oh prospects. I am so surprised he never became at least serviceable. Had a great eye at the plate, not a lot of strikeouts, fast, good fielder.
oldsox
Same here. I still would rank him ahead of De Aza, Lillibridge, and a few other ST invitees.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Same here. I still would rank him ahead of De Aza, Lillibridge, and a few other ST invitees. He's a worse option than Mark Kotsay.

southsider2k5
Jeremy Reed would be a great signing and a starter... Maybe in Charlotte.
Kyyle23
Brewers just traded Cutter Dykstra to the Nationals for Nyjer Morgan, so Jeremy Reed or Brandon Boggs will get cut soon.
oldsox
While on the subject of ex Sox prospects, I saw that two were recently cut by their new teams... John Ely (Dodgers) and Chris Carter (Rays).
witesoxfan
QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) While on the subject of ex Sox prospects, I saw that two were recently cut by their new teams... John Ely (Dodgers) and Chris Carter (Rays). Different Chris Carter. The former Sox Chris Carter is a pretty good prospect with the Athletics. He was also cut and will be playing in AAA this year. southsider2k5
I'm waiting for Clarence Carter to get cut. The problem is I hear the Sox like his stroke.

oldsox
I remember after we traded Reed to Seattle, he went from Charlotte to the M's Triple AAA team (Tacoma) and tore it up out there. When he got to the Show, he never hit.

And in-prime Cobb had 410+ batting averages. Do not pass go, go directly to FAIL.
