flavum
Humber is getting lit up by Sox minor leaguers. Brandon Short homered off him, and they've scored at least 4 runs in one inning. I'm not going to second guess this...if they don't push Humber back to April 9th, they are stupid. They need to lean on the top 4 while Peavy is out. ChiliIrishHammock24
So Peavy has gone 10 up, 10 down apparently. He stayed for 4 batters in the 2nd inning because he got them all out too fast. #winning.

flavum
Doesn't make it much better. They can get away with him starting on the 9th and 19th against Wade Davis, and then hopefully Peavy is ready to come back on the 24th.

Harry Chappas
I posted this yesterday and then never came back to the thread but what happened to putting the starters out there the last week of the season to get in a groove and be ready for the season?????????? Has the Opening day lineup played in one game this spring? I understand spring means nothing to this organization but slow starts and finishes are the norm and they are doing nothing to change that. The only consistent hitters that are somewhat guaranteed for this season are Dunn and Konerko and age could get the better of both of them. This team could easily hit .180 or .300 in April. I don't think we've seen the expected everyday lineup for a while now. According to Yahoo: SS Alexei Ramirez (back spasms) was scratched from the March 28 game. He was expected to be ready for Opening Day.

I feel that comparing with other teams the Sox actually had the 'regulars' playing a LOT during the spring.
fathom
Something Boers and Bernstein were discussing about Humber was how hard everyone seemed to hit the ball against him.
The Ginger Kid
sounds like Jake is on the rise again. please, no more "bumps" in the road. I'd just love to see what this guy can do if 100% healthy but can you ever really trust that it's going to happen...?

flavum
11-20-1 Another fine Ozzie Guillen spring training. And yes, I'm kidding around and don't care about spring training results.

They need to lean on the top 4 while Peavy is out. Looks like one of two things is going on here. 1.) He's exclusively working on a pitch and is thus getting beat around or 2.) I was totally wrong and Humber is a total long shot to even give us a 4.5 ERA for 5 starts. We shall see. /me twittles fingers. muahahaha
southsideirish71
Well it's time to flip that switch. A slow start is not going to work this year. It starts on Friday. To win your division you need to beat your division.
