4/6/11 - Sox vs. Royals - 1:10 (CSN)

Recommended Posts

Time to get some fresh blood in the game thread. Sox aren't going to lay down and be swept by the Kansas City M'F'n Royals!

In typical gamethread fashion for me, I will now insult the other team/pitcher.

While also offering a picture of an attractive female. You're welcome.

I wonder how many backup players we will see tomorrow with a day game after a night game. Probably Castro, especially since Francis is a lefty. Milledge maybe? Vizquel? I'm sure Lillibridge won't be starting.

Well with Dunn out, and the lefty pitching, I'd expect a lineup something like...

Pierre, 7

Beckham, 4

Rios, 8

Konerko, 3

Quentin, 9 or 0

Ramirez, 6

Teahen or Milledge, 0 or 9

Castro, 2

Vizquel, 5

Teahen is a lefty but they will put him in there to get some at-bats, so I'm not sure if he plays or not. Rios hasn't had a day off but he finally had a game with the bat yesterday, so I doubt they sit him.

I missed the part about us facing a lefty. Scratch the Teahen comment and paste it in when we face a righty again.

Besides the stupid bunt a couple games back, I've been happy with Ozzie so far this season. Good lineup here.

EDIT: Though on 2nd look I'd much rather have Lastings dh'ing.

The crappy thing is that he called the perfect squeeze, which would have been the game winning run last night. That bunt just had a bit of side spin and came off of the grass and went foul.

Why? Milledge has a better arm than Pierre. The bats will be the same.

Other thing to remember....Juan Pierre never, ever, ever gets a day off. He'll never ask for one, and Ozzie will almost never force one on him. He played in 160 games last year (a couple PH appearances granted, like the day he saved us all from being no-hit).

He's never going to get rest. It's a good thing when it's forced on him.
