ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Great win for us against UConn. Jarnell Stokes is a beast - it's amazing he should only be a senior in high school this year. Andre Drummond who? That's a good win for you. UConn looked awful. You got them at the right time. I have faith they'll be a different team come March once everyone is healthy. We need to get Boatright back though - if they NCAA wasn't dicking him around I firmly believe they would have won both games they lost this week
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Iowa State is now tied for third in the Big 12 so I'm enjoying it. If someone told me prior to the season the team would, at this point, be 14-5/4-2 and tied (below) for 3rd in the B12, I'd have been very happy. Somehow, I don't feel that happy. Losses to Drake and UNI were just terrible, and they looked horrible vs OSU. This team really is inconsistent, have major trouble rebounding, and still don't have a true PG. That all said, I think Hoiberg finally has his formula for who he plays where and when. And it seems to be something they can grow with. 6-6 the rest of the way gets 20 wins prior to the conference tournament. I hope their recruiting is focusing on true PG's and C's. KU has better power numbers though that is obviously skewed beating OSU w/o Sully. Overall, MU's resume is much more impressive to me but at the moment Kansas has the numbers advantage. Soxbadger
Yeah, I just still cant imagine putting KU with a loss at home to Davidson over Missouri who just beat Baylor @ Baylor. KU might not even have a top 25 road win.

Overall, MU's resume is much more impressive to me but at the moment Kansas has the numbers advantage. Plus there's the 'they're Kansas' factor. It's reminds me of football season except for the fact that it all gets sorted by the end of the season. How nice.

NorthSideSox72
ACC with 5 teams? No way. Big 10 won't get 8 either, but we've already discussed that. And Big East won't get 8 either. B12 and MWC will get more than they show there, if I had to guess right now.
Soxbadger
Not only did Big10 have 8, they also had NU just on the outside. I actually am starting to believe that the Big10 is going to at minimum get 7. Right now OSU, MSU are locks, Wisconsin, Ill, Indiana, Michigan are all in as of today, and I think at worst 1 and likely 2 of Purdue, Minnesota and NU make it. ZoomSlowik
Please stop putting "NU" or "Northwestern" and "tournament" in the same sentence unless you are saying "Northwestern is not going to the tournament." This is just like every other season: they go something like 10-2 in the non-conference season, start the conference slate in 1-4/2-5 territory when they start playing real teams, then finish with 6 or 7 conference wins and another NIT berth. They're just so annoying to follow. They always seem to have 1 or 2 really solid players and then a bunch of limited role players that shouldn't see significant playing time on a decent team. What's worse is they always seem to give you just enough hope before someone gets hurt and they drop a few close games that would be huge resume builders. So annoying, these last few years were by far their best chances in quite some time. Before Coble got hurt/quit they looked like a reasonably safe bet to make it, then last year they had to deal with Shurna limping around all year. The near future doesn't look that great either with Shurna graduating and a lot of young players that haven't produced yet on the roster. Barring a surprising underclassman stud, it'll be at least two more years before they look remotely tournament-worthy again. Sorry about the rant, I know no one cares about NU except me and Danman. danman31
I didn't even watch the Minnesota game. By the time I got home it was 18-4 so I just said f*** it. This team might have been good enough, but the injuries have made them far too thin.

farmteam
I know this means pretty much zero, but interesting nonetheless that they slate Cody Zeller to go second overall after his sophomore year. http://www.nbadraft.net/2013mock_draft I envision him leaving after his junior year (but will have completed his bachelors), and being drafted around 10 or so.
