WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

Despite the ugly performance over the past few days, hopefully they get over the concentration issues they seem to be having, and tighten things up.

In the mean time, lets take a deep breath, and be happy we escaped that road trip with a 3-2 record before returning home. I would have liked to sweep KC, but seeing as how hot (lucky) they've been, I'll take the split.

Can't overlook the Sox were down 3 runs with 2 out and nobody on in the 9th against Soria.

That alone makes this a great win.

Indeed.

After watching what looked like a team giving up down the stretch two years ago, it was refreshing to watch these guys claw back tooth-and-nail today. A team that wants it more can overcome holes in their roster.

This team has fewer holes on the roster than how they're playing right now.

This bullpen and the starting pitching is better than what we've seen.

Most of the league can say the same thing though

Dunn saying he could've pinch hit today and wants to play tomorrow .

Yea...no. Maybe tomorrow, but the idea of him playing today would have been bad.

I think he was at 95-96 once or twice even.

Average FB velocity today: 93.50, Max: 95.7. By my count he had 6 out 21 fastballs at 95+

Yesterday: 94.48 avg and 95.7 max and 5 out of 11 fastballs at 95+

For reference Brooks Baseball's pitchfx tool had Thornton at 96.71 avg, 98.7 max and Buehrle at 85.56 avg, 88.5 max. Seems about right.

Should have won last night, should have lost today. It all evens out.

I'm going to be happy with a .500+ road trip every single time, even if it is against the two cellar dwellers of the AL Central.

Not a bad post.

I'd be happy with that as well ... IF we kick ass at home. .500 record or a bit better on the road is fantastic only IF the team dominates at home.

The sooner we realize Matt Thornton is NOT a closer the better off we'll be. Keep him as the setup guy where he's dominated the past few years.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that it is too early to be saying that... but I agree.

I know there are million of stats some of you guys will bring up to prove me wrong. I don't know if it's the selection of games I watch or what, but it seems to me that Matt is never comfortable when he is put in that closing spot. The MT-CS duo at the end of last year worked perfect and I was hoping it would stay the same the same this year.

For the sake of the team I hope I'm wrong and Matt becomes an ALL-STAR closer.
