lostfan
How is this game on Thornton? Yeah, he gave up a bomb, but after the 2 errors had sabotaged the game.
greg775
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 03:13 AM) Not even pissed. It's kind of funny. It's weird, but I feel good about the Sox coming back in this. I don't. This ship has sailed. Teahen delivered the 2 run hit that should have made it an automatic win. Can't blame Matt because of the bad D, but ...

SoxAce
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) That was a bomb. Oh well. We blew this one (unless somehow we win). Five unearned runs? Two are earned.

TheBigHurt
You need to start insulting me or something!!!! I'd rather kick a puppy in the face. I echo the sentiments about Thornton not being suitable for a closer. I got a lot of s*** last year for saying I think Santos would be more suitable, yet I think soon we are gonna have to try going that route. stretchstretch
I was sitting behind Paulie playing first at the AS game when McCann hit that ball off Thornton, and had a feeling at that very moment it was going to effect him

Harry Chappas
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) 94 mph straight fastballs from Thornton isn't going to cut it. The Thorton to closer move had disaster written all over it and may go down as one of the worst personnel decisions this organization has made. You saw this in Baltimore and Minnesota last year and it is holding true through six games this year. He is Latroy Hawkins.

caulfield12
I really think Santos or Sale needs to be the closer. Probably Santos, since Sale eventually will go to the rotation. They've already blown two games now in the first week when it took 86 to do that in 2005. The worst thing is breathing life into TB in a four game series when Humber's going tmrw...and there's no way I am paying John Danks $16-17 million a year.
