Guest hotsoxchick1
explain this mutual options stuff... i havent had the chance to roam around the sites yet but if anyone of you can fill me in on what or if there is somewhere that a part of this contract is talked about i would appreciate it bunches.... im glad frank is staying but i have a few questions about this "new" contract.....does it wash out the old one completely? i know the 5-10 rule applies but i also know frank had a no trade clause in his old contract, knowing how bad kw wants him gone does this new one make it easier on kw to do so??? is this new contract in fact only good for the 2003 season now??? whats the deal here??? i just got home a little while ago and the phone hasnt stopped ringing and i havent had a chance to roam around to find any answers so i figured if i posted a few questions you all would be able to put your heads together and give me a few answers.... thanks guys.... i appreciate it.......... Chisoxfn
Basically if Frank wants to come back, then the contract is for less money, I think 6 million next year and then whatever the next year and the year following. If Thomas declines the option, then the So can accept it, but for a little more money each year. I'm really sorry I haven't written something up on the main page, but I think I've sold my truck, so I've been on the phone haggling the past hour with the person I'm getting my other car from. Lets just say I'm no KW, their ain't no playe to be named later with me. I'm like the US, I don't negotiate
baggio202
so if franks hits like 230 then the he can accept the lessor of the two numbers and the sox have to agree...if frank hits 330 then he can reject it and the sox can accpet it for a couple million more and frank has to take...if it falls somewhere in the middle..both parties could agree its time to part ways or redue the contract again...is that the jist of it???...interesting..frank sure goes for these complicated contracts huh??? Guest hotsoxchick1
im just wondering if hes not setting himself up here for something better.. using his sox play time as a showcase so to speak....then mid way through the season kw gets the trade bug up his ass and there goes frank.......thats why i wanted to understand this whole mess.....something just tells me.... hes here but for how long.......yeah baggs why does he always go for these complicated s***ty contracts.......geez........ witesoxfan
Atleast this one isn't as complicated as his last one...if he starts the all-star game in 2003, then he is guarenteed his old contract back, but he has to start. But if he is an all-star in 2003 and 2004, he gets his old $10 million back, the same thing that would have happened had he started the 2003 all-star game. Jeezus though...it's still kind of complicated. Maybe he thinks it makes him look smart...and he's single right? Maybe he thinks women will dig the smart and sexy look of him, along with all the money...who knows....then again, I'm not a guy, so I wouldn't know if he is sexy or not. HSC...HELP!!! lol

Guest hotsoxchick1
well i dont exactly consider frank sexy or anything like that so i cant comment on that part there...lol... this contract makes me confused as all hell and like the old one i just dont get why they cant come out and say heres what your going to make .. and for mvp or something like that we add this much....and if you f*** up we take out this much... .period.. clean cut and simple.....i mean its not that hard is it.....of course im also baffeled at how one can make what about 60 or so million and be broke enough to have to borrow 1 mil before the season even starts.....if i made that much in a few years believe me i couldnt give it away fast enough and i'd still have tons to spend....lol..... I thought I read that somewhere...but I agree...I don't know how you could make that much money and then go broke. I sure hope that A-Rod doesn't go broke...I'd personally go up to him and slap him if he did.

Chisoxfn
Ya it is stealing from him. I think a lot of things are ridiculous, but I won't get started on that cause this will turn into a 10 page thread on politics
