hi8is
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) We could be tied for the worst record in MLB after today depending on a couple other games. Maybe NOW I should say, "it can't get any worse"
Harry Chappas
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) Hitting .251 coming in to today, good for #6 in the AL. .709 team OPS, good for 8th in the AL. AL average is .247 and .711. Come on the sample size is too small. Two guys hitting over .310 and five under .
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) Jackson's stuff has been awful since the 120 pitch outing in the home opener. That move to leave him in that long sure paid off. He's given up a ton of hits in his last few outings. He'll be fine if he can rediscover his slider and change-up. He's basically been a one-pitch pitcher recently.
hi8is
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) He'll be fine if he can rediscover his slider and change-up. He's basically been a one-pitch pitcher recently. Ding ding ding. He's back to struggling with location on all his pitches - which is always been his scarlet letter. caulfield12
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) Perhaps you should take over for Ozzie. The clubhouse would love you with your glass half full attitude. Unfortunately, those first couple of games of the season don't offset the last 12. If that kind of inconsistent offense meant anything to overall wins and losses, we'd have beaten the Twins every season up until 2010 based on the respective talents of both offenses head-to-head. Last year was the first season you could argue the Twins clearly had the better team/talent.

oldsox
How is Hawk handling this? Is he still blatently optimistic? Does he criticize at all? I don't get to hear hem very often.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) In 60 AB's Adam Dunn has not put the ball in play for 33 of them Adam's % of contact on pitches throw IN the strikezone is absolutely terrible right now compared to his career. He is making contact with only 60% of the pitches thrown in the zone this year. His career average is 80% Also, he has only made contact with 57% of the pitches he has swung at. That's compared to his career average of 71%. So not only is his contact terrible this year, but even the ones thrown in zone he is missing. So it's not even like he is just expanding his strike zone, he is just plain missing everything.
caulfield12
There's just no way Edwin Jackson deserves to have 7 earned runs in the box score. Between Pierre, Rios and Ozzie leaving him in one inning too long (3 more runs) especially based on his workload the last 2+ seasons, he should only have 2-3, maybe 4 earned runs, even though he really pitched poorly, the outfield defense has been just brutal this season. Dick Allen
I still think the Sox will be OK, but they better start winning within their division. Their struggles against Minnesota have been well chronicled, but this is going to be the 8th straight loss to Detroit. As Hawk would say, that won't work. greg775
This might sound dumb, but do you think many fans will just give up after today? I mean, just totally forget about the White Sox? It's cliche, but the team is truly dead and missing in so many different areas. I mean us diehards will follow every game no matter what, but who would buy a ticket to see this joke of a team? I think Oz is gone soon if this continues. Reinsdorf can blame it on the payroll and how somebody had to be the fall guy. You can't just bank on the fact, "it's early." This team is ridiculously bad and dead. And we don't even know if we are ever going to close a game because we haven't had a save situation in so long. Q: Are the white sox soon to be old, forgotten news in Chicago until if/when they actually start winning??
jeffro2525
It would be nice to at least see some offensive fight. Haven't shown fight or will to compete late in games on offense in over a week.
