southsideirish71
QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) man what the hell is going on with Pierre He should be on the bench for a few days having a mental rest, or whatever Ozzie calls benching rookies. Of course without he super fast grindy slappy hitter type, Ozzie can't create the NL Marlins offense of slappy grindy win. Right now, Pierre is Pods deux. Chisoxrd5
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Well Johnny completely falls apart. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the easiest thing in the world to pitch inning after inning knowing your offense is not capable of scoring a run. Balta1701
QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:48 PM) Contrary to popular belief, it's not the easiest thing in the world to pitch inning after inning knowing your offense is not capable of scoring a run. Which is why, when he was closing on 100 pitches, it wouldn't have been the worst idea in the world to have someone warming at the start of this inning, and maybe have Crain ready to face Jackson after that first double. Chisoxrd5
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) Which is why, when he was closing on 100 pitches, it wouldn't have been the worst idea in the world to have someone warming at the start of this inning, and maybe have Crain ready to face Jackson after that first double. Correct, that would imply proper management of the team. Ozzie isn't very interested in that concept at the moment.

fathom
sorry, can't quote for some reason. I agree Balta, Danks has had very little breathing room. His first 5 innings ERA has to be great.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) I've always thought that was one of the knocks on him. Great for 5 innings. Danks doesn't rack up the strikeouts like some people, but still winds up throwing a fair number of pitches to guys. He doesn't put guys away all that well if the change is inconsistent, and he's really vulnerable to people screwing around on defense behind him, like the Sox have been doing all year.
