caulfield12
As the Yankees' broadcasters refer to him, "home run by Lilliquist." Remembering the former Braves and Indians hurler.

DirtySox
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) He'll never make it to the majors. No kidding.
caulfield12
I'm calling a walk-off homer by Sizemore in the bottom of the 9th for the Tribe. You have to give Lillibridge credit for taking advantage of the opportunities provided him by Ozzie. Milledge is sulking down in AAA with a .500 OPS after his bat was pretty hot this spring. Real
How many young players have we drafted and ruined because we can't develop talent through the minors. Wonder how Jordan Danks would've done in the Twins or BoSox organization, same goes for Beckham and Flowers

Wonder how Jordan Danks would've done in the Twins or BoSox organization, same goes for Beckham and Flowers Well, we didn't draft Flowers. However, our organization's absolute inability to develop offensive players is baffling. Funny that it's basically all a bunch of white boys that can't hit a fastball. Be nice to spend some more money on Latin American players.

southsideirish71
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Have we "ruined" them through poor instruction in the system, or was the talent never really there to begin with? Beckham has hit in the majors. He hit in the minors and he hit in one of the toughest conferences in college. The swing I see looks nothing like what he came up with. I think the Sox are just terrible at recognizing real talent. Of course, those guys wouldn't sign here anyway, Reinsdorf is not going to pay them. He's looks to capture lightening in a bottle and ends up with a tempest in a teapot.

WOW. YET another defensive miscue leads to a big inning against our pitchers. Anderson and Fields? There are many theories out there. There have always been concerns about Flowers' big swing and possible PED's use to get a huge offensive season in the Braves' system. Danks has also had that big loping swing from the beginning, which they've tried to make more "Sweeney-esque." Beckham's just a huge mystery. He definitely had the talent...no comparison with those other four. If Thompson, Mitchell and Viciedo all fizzle, then Buddy Bell might be handed his walking papers. HOPEFULLY.
