Milkman delivers
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 05:24 AM) He won't be fired this year or even 2012 no matter what our record is. I think JR still regrets the letting go of LaRussa and holds Ozzie in high regard just as he does with LaRussa. The bottom line, however, is it appears Ozzie can't get his guys to play hard everyday for him and his decision making is suspect at best. I'd really like to see Walker fired NOW and get another guy who can work with Rios and Beckham as if those guys aren't hitting we don't stand a chance and it's quite obvious now Walk isn't delivering the goods on either of those key players for us. I haven't bought one ticket this year, and I won't so long as they play anywhere near this level. If they bring Ozzie back in 2012 if they don't make the playoffs this year or even if they do hobble in and get raped in the ALDS, I won't attend a single game in 2012. Go to games. I mean I can see this being the view of the general public, but not someone on a Sox message board. You're either with this outfit or you're not. SoxFanForever
Just because you support the team doesn't mean you are required to pay for an inferior product. That should go doubly so for an educated fan like Milkman.

Paint it Black
QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 10:07 AM) Simple forecasting strategy... Predict Doom & Gloom... When the team is losing, you can gloat and post "I told you so" threads... When the team is winning, point out negatives while claiming you're just trying to provide objectivity and balance out all the kool-aid drinking optimists. Brilliant. This. It's sad that people who post on here the most act like they have never been through a baseball season. Anyone care to point out where the Giants were at this point last year? And seriously, stop with the whole Ozzie sucks s***. Turn on a different baseball team and you'll quickly find out Ozzie is easily one of the best managers in the game. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 09:59 AM) Ive plunked down money for season tickets every year for the past 14, going to at least 50 games per during that time. Trust me this is no fun. I'm not questioning your fandom. But you can't create a " I told you so" thread and then turn around and say I didn't want to be right but I'm going to make it known that I was. That's really tooting your own horn. Even if you don't realize it.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 05:14 AM) Games aren't played on paper. They are played on television.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) Just because you support the team doesn't mean you are required to pay for an inferior product. That should go doubly so for an educated fan like Milkman. Thank you. I've pumped a lot of money into this team over the years. I'm tired of the crap I get for my money. With this season, I know the attendance needs to play a huge part for the roster. If they're going to suck, I'm not going to help pay for them. And if I (and others) hold back our money, there will be wholesale changes. That's what I want to see. If they get the money they need, they're going to remain the same underachieving team with the same coaching staff and the same overpaid players. I'm tired of that. I still go to games when someone else has a spare ticket (which is actually more often than you'd think) because I honestly can't stop watching, but I surely can hold back as much of my money as possible. elrockinMT
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 05:31 AM) The White Sox are 1 game worse than they were at this point last year and that team won 88 games. This season is not over. Yes sir!
Jordan4life_2007
I could never just stop going to games. I fell in love with baseball long before the White Sox. Just being at the ballpark and the entire experience. The food, booze and hot girls help, too. But if I've got the money, I'm there.

Like I said, I'll still go when someone offers me a ticket. That seems to happen at least twice a month. Those tickets are already purchased and it makes no difference who goes, so it might as well be me.

You REALLY think this s*** team has a 25-5 stretch in them? STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID! So you are telling me that you thought they did have a 25-5 stretch in them last year? witesoxfan
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Love this board and I take no pleasure in being right predicting this as a mediocre team (at best) during this offseason, but what were optimists thinking? Oh for f***'s sake, shut the f*** up. You DO take pleasure in saying "this is a mediocre team," because otherwise, you wouldn't say "I told you so." And BTW, I'm going to take a ton of pleasure when this team takes first place around the time summer rolls around.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) What did we win last year? "We" didn't win a goddamn thing. The White Sox won more games than 18 teams with Mark Kotsay as the primary DH for most of the year and without Jake Peavy for the second half of the year. They are a better team this year. Wait until atleast June. Edited April 30, 2011 by witesoxfan
bigruss
I'd rather not have to rely on a 25-5 stretch to take first place, sooo hopefully the Sox turn this crap around soon.

I love the no pleasure, but I'll start a thread to tell y'all how smart I am. I'm closing this thread because it is stupid. There are enough threads like this already and this one is just jumping the shark. Edited April 30, 2011 by lostfan
