witesoxfan
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 3, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Our third baseman is BM. wish we still had Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreda
Soxbadger
I wish we had the 1994 team, do you think there have been any recent scientific advances that would allow us to make Frank Thomas, Black Jack, Ventura young again and under contract with the Sox? Because Im thinking for 100mil you could make some serious headway.
witesoxfan
And what's f***ing Juan Nieves doing out in the bullpen? STICKING HIS THUMB UP HIS ASS AND SMELLING IT! I can already tell you that won't smell good smart guy!
Soxbadger
I would also like to point out since the Cell changed to Bobak's sausage the Sox have not played well. I think that we need to strike the Cell until they bring back whatever was before Bobak's because that is not good.
clyons
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 3, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) wish we still had Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreda Still plenty o' crap without them.
Kenny Hates Prospects
I blame Peavy. For all that money he's making you'd think he'd be kind enough to pick up some fake breasts and a pair of pom-poms. I want more out of my cheerleaders! Soxbadger
Yeah Peavy has been suspiciously doing nothing during this whole time. Maybe peavy is bad mojo
Swingandalongonetoleft
a black hole walks into a restaurant. the waitress asks it if it wants an appetizer. the black hole responds: "no, i think i'll just have a light lunch".
Soxbadger
No the fans are wearing a new form of seat camouflage, you just cant see them on tv. So when I go to the games are people going to throw s*** at me? Because my strike against Bobak's just means I get different food at the game, and curse the stations whenever I walk by. CURSE YOU BOBAKS
Kenny Hates Prospects
LOL at the seat-colored camoflauge. Never realized that. And maybe they're silent because they're still trying to digest all those bulls*** marketing slogans.
kitekrazy
QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) In the grand scheme of things, it's hard to imagine how KW will keep his job. It's his 128 million dollar team that is underachieving, and he's put the organization into a situation where competing the next few years seems a longshot. He would be the first on my list, then coaches and scouts. Even if they fire Walker, you will only see a temporary change. This team just seems to have guys who can't or wont make adjustments at the plate.
witesoxfan
I would suggest that the White Sox run another blackout, except this time it is called "JACKOUT BLACKOUT". Except instead of giving out black shirts, they give out .375's of Yukon Jack, and before the game, everyone must chug it. Then the drunkest must attack the Twins. It's flawless. Soxbadger
No the fans are quiet because we are trying out a new form of classy baseball watching where its like golf and you dont make noise until after the shot is played. We are also considering banning fans from going up and down the aisles during play, but for right now we can only accomplish cheering. (How annoying is it when some one walks in front of you in a critical moment and just stands to watch, when youve been sitting there all day.) Oh so there is another complaint STOP LETTING PEOPLE WALK IN THE AISLE DURING PLAY Maybe instead of complaining about things we cant change (the team), we should complain about thigns we can change, quality Italian sausage at a baseball game. Outrageous.

Soxbadger
Let people pay $10 per game to vote on what the Sox do. THINK OF THE MONEY

Milkman delivers
Two things: 1.) Best thread title in Soxtalk history 2.) I saw this happen in person. As disappointing as it was, it was still pretty cool to watch something historic For those of you who are Facebook friends with me, I'm uploading the video of the final out right now (with extremely brief commentary at the very end). Except instead of giving out black shirts, they give out .375's of Yukon Jack, and before the game, everyone must chug it. Then the drunkest must attack the Twins. It's flawless. How about we just pave the field and roll out the monster trucks? Forget this baseball stuff entirely. But if the game must go on, then I do like the idea of getting the fans as drunk and belligerent as humanly possible. We could have a promotion where the first 6,000 fans get a bottle of Boone's Farm, and that way when only 3,000 show up (infernal weather!) each fan gets an extra bottle. Sounds like a plan to me. Oh, and we can have an Amway get rich quick scheme promotion too! Fill the parking lot with beat up Ford Escorts and the stadium with bad tie-wearing, marker board-toting independent business owners! Presentations all day! Make money now!
Soxbadger
There are some great ways to make money, how much do you think a billionaire would pay to play DH for a game.

Congrats! Since we're clearly doing nothing this year, you just happened to luck out for what will probably be the most relevant game of the season. BTW I'm in no way angry at the Twins, Liriano, any of those guys. Congrats to them all. But Liriano was hittable tonight - very hittable. Not diminishing the accomplishment either. We just suck.
