Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Guy on 3rd base with one out and infield in results in the contact play about 99% of the time. Beckham did nothing wrong there. Funny thing is that it should be Ozzie's responsibility to tell Cox whether or not contact play is on. If Beckham missed a sign, then that reflects poorly on Ozzie due to Omar missing a sign the other day also. I didn't watch the game last night, but I guess the ineptitude in the batter's box- the reason for the problems- is what I was making a reference to, and he hasn't swung a bat for the White Sox in years. If Beckham missed a sign, then that reflects poorly on Ozzie due to Omar missing a sign the other day also. Guillen has already blamed Beckham and Beckham has assumed responsibility for "freezing" on the play, but it still reflects poorly on the communication between the coaches and coach/player. It's pretty shocking that someone like Omar Vizquel missed a sign. Pretty much everything that could go wrong (considering we're a team with theoretically TOO MUCH pitching legitimately yet mired in last place) has gone wrong. It's the reverse of 2005/2006 or the last week of 2008. Quentin/Ramirez/Danks/Floyd made the last 3-4 seasons more interesting and were a needed injection of talent, but they also put off the rebuilding process for KW until it's now become an unavoidable and foregone conclusion. Still waiting for the inevitably defiant "we don't rebuild, we reload" and "the other four teams in our division have only put themselves in a better position to compete with us" quotes from KW.
