caulfield12
Has Peavy thrown any pitches over 90 MPH? I just picked up the game at mlb.com and he was at 88. That's Freddy Garcia territory. Or was it a sinking FB and his four seamer's in the low 90's?
Harry Chappas
QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Just noticed that all of our hits are from our lefties. except teahen
Thad Bosley
The story tonight should be that Jake Peavy's first start since that abysmal injury last year was a good and encouraging one. Instead, at least 'til now, it's all about the Sox' inability to get a hit with RISP.
southsideirish71
Our ERA as a team in May is 2.57. Teams pitching like this should be on a massive run.

Andrew
Low 90s. Have to imagine he's still building stamina and arm strength right now though. Thanks, I'm sure. He just looks...I don't know...more herky-jerky than he originally did.... Maybe just me.

Harry Chappas
teahen is almost as big a waste of player as pierre is. he is guaranteed to foul a pitch off to the left and then hit a seven hopper

caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Teahen's batting average in free-fall mode, down to about .225 And he still has a higher OPS than Beckham. Who has a higher OPS than Pierre, AJ, Rios and Morel. Yikes. Looks like all of Peavy's pitchers are within 5-7 MPH of each other. Not exactly the 10+ MPH spread that's ideal. He is throwing sliders, change-ups and cutters according the play-by-play, in addition to the FB. Edited May 12, 2011 by caulfield12

Kinda like what the Cubs have faced the last few years, it's going to take a few years to get some of these bad contracts off the books.
