Rios could not possibly have swung the bat farther away from that pitch. He'd have gotten closer to it if it was a pitchout.

I know the batting average against is similar, but it really seems like today is an odd game to stack the lineup with righties. That tight little slider by Ross seems tough on righties.

Gavin's determined to throw 80% of his pitches tonight above the belt. He doesn't look comfortable at all on the mound. I really hope we start separating him and Humber in the rotation.

The A's haven't exactly hit him hard or looked like they're exceptionally on the ball, Gavin's just been inconsistent in the zone. Unless Humber took Floyd out to celebrate, that is a solution for the wrong problem.

I just don't like having virtually the same pitcher going on consecutive nights.

Crisp twice, Willingham, Kouz, and Barton have hit him hard. There's no life on Gavin's pitches today.

Again, how does Humber pitching yesterday make Gavin have no life on his pitches?

So Gavin's got nothing? I'm following on gameday.

He's snapped off a couple good pitches but he's got no consistency, and the fastball is generally up so far.

I'm saying general rule of thumb in baseball is you try to split up your rotation so you don't have similar pitchers going on consecutive days. You know this, I don't know why you're being difficult about it. I never said it has anything to do with Gavin's stuff sucking today. He either isn't 100% healthy or just not focused.

Please tell me Brent Morel is not sacrificing with 1 out and a man on 1b.

Probably would have been only way he could be productive. I still can't believe he's playing today.

Seems to be throwing a lot of change-ups, and they've all been up.

He nailed the ball on pitch 2, just right at the RF. Hardest hit ball we've had I think.

Well, at least the pitcher doesn't have to lead off next inning for us. Just have to shake your head at our 6-7-8-9-1 today.

The 7 and 9 hitters nailed the ball and the #8 hitter got our first hit.

Are you kidding me? It was a weak fly ball. I feel like I'm watching a different game then.
