fathom
Brilliant managing by Ozzie. He should have never, ever started this inning.
Balta1701
Yeah, this has been a poor start by about the whole team not just jackson
Capn12
So bad... 4+ innings, 11 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, 2 wild pitches. Definitely the stuff of a solid starter.
Soxfest
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Brilliant managing by Ozzie. He should have never, ever started this inning. I guess management wants nobody at the games and they deserve every empty seat.
shago
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Jeez Ozzie...leaving Jackson in a long time when he has less than his best. Ozzie made a bad in-game decision? I'm floored
Thad Bosley
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) Brilliant managing by Ozzie. He should have never, ever started this inning. Agreed. He labored way too much through this one to have been brought out for this inning. Unfortunate.

We won't have to deal with his erratic ass much longer. He'll likely be traded in a few months.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) We won't have to deal with his erratic ass much longer. He'll likely be traded in a few months. Are we going to get two pitching prospects for him. It would be nice if one of them was near major league ready. fathom
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 17, 2011 -> 01:54 AM) Are we going to get two pitching prospects for him. It would be nice if one of them was near major league ready. It will probably be someone we put in the pen right away. The more I think about things, the more I'm stunned at how much this year could hurt Sale's development. He's basically a mop-up man now.
Thad Bosley
A fiercely crooked number would be welcome right about now!
Cali
I irrationally blame Pierre for the ENTIRE offense struggling this year. It all starts at the top, right? He's the hardest working man on the team and still fails, so that messes everyone up, i think?
fathom
How many strikes can we take tonight? Never has a hanging breaking pitch dominated an offense so much.

Capn12
This team, I swear. It makes no sense how they can play like they did on the road, then forget what the hell they are doing at home.
Soxfest
Team is slow, boring and paint drying is almost as enjoyable.
fathom
Worst thing about that inning is Juan having a bunt hit. Ozzieball!! It would be nice for Dunn to carry this team on this homestand, especially with the Sox facing a lot of sinker ballers.
Jordan4life_2007
Thank goodness for Extra Innnings. I'm going to watch me some Michael Pineda.
Soxfest
17-1 Clev in 5th inning that is 2 weeks of scoring for the Sox.
Dick Allen
Did Jim Thome ever have a 40 game stretch with the Sox where he was as unproductive as Dunn has been? Dunn needs to start earning his check.
Dick Allen
Boring games and cold weather mean lots of empty green seats for JR.
TheBigHurt
Agreed. He labored way too much through this one to have been brought out for this inning. Unfortunate. Man, I've noticed this year even greg is calling for Ozzie to get fired; if that's not indicative of how terrible he's been I don't know what is. If there's anyone left here that still thinks highly of him as a manager, I'm stunned.
kitekrazy
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) Boring games and cold weather mean lots of empty green seats for JR. I can't believe the weather. It's half way past May and it's in the 40's.
Thad Bosley
A few too many balls just going "underneath Gordon's glove" to his left, for my liking.
Milkman delivers
Man, does it seem like these guys just aren't even trying? It did not look like Dunn even jogged to first on his DP, Peña didn't even attempt to cover 1B earlier, and Beckham didn't seem to try to get that ball. It did not look like Dunn even jogged to first on his DP, Peña didn't even attempt to cover 1B earlier, and Beckham didn't seem to try to get that ball. Dunn really needs to drop a few pounds.
