Milkman delivers
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Wait, Peavy? Haha, I don't know how I mixed up Crede and Peavy.
fathom
If Dunn doesn't hit a home run off of Garland tomorrow, then I give up hope he's going to hit 35 homers this year. I'm pretty sure he hit 3 homers in a game against Garland last year.
Rowand44
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I don't mind honoring these guys, but I think it's ridiculous that Jerry Reinsdorf told Juan Pierre to honor Scott Podsednik all season by getting caught stealing and picked off twice a week. How dare you forget poor lf defense. You disappoint me.
Iwritecode
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Sounds like the same exact scenario as Frank's return. Frank hit one out in his second AB too. But at least the Sox won that game. First time and last time I've ever seen a "walk-off" suicide squeeze.

First time and last time I've ever seen a "walk-off" suicide squeeze. And they were both off of........ You guessed it. JON GARLAND! I was at that game. It was one of the best ever. I was considering typing that, but Pods never dropped fly balls like Pierre has. I still find it ironic that Pods made a game saving catch at the wall in Game 2 of ALCS against none other than Orlando Cabrera.
greg775
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:01 PM) It's not funny. It's stupid. Sorry to be blunt. Stupid? Cmon. it's nice gesture. This proves i can start a thread that gets some responses. Yes!

fathom
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 20, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) not defending Juan's D at all this year, but his horrible play souldn't take away from how awful Pods was in the OF, many of the balls Juan got to and looked fairly routine and got, Pods would have sped his wheels and not even got a chance to make an error Last year, I'd totally agree with you. This year, it seems his range is non-existent. It really seems like he's lost two steps from last year (where he had lost a step from his Marlins days). Even on his leadoff double yesterday, he had no chance for a triple on a liner into the right field corner.
chw42
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) As long as JR is the owner, loyalty/history will be a huge deal to the organization (for better or for worse). Dwyane Wade disagrees with JR's supposed loyalty.

Whitewashed in '05
I've tried looking for the video tribute online, but can't find it! If anyone has it or has a link to it, would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has it or has a link to it, would be greatly appreciated. It literally lasted 30 seconds. just find Juan's catches from Game 4 and you won't miss much
YASNY
The very best tribute given at the Cell was for Robin Ventura. His first time back he received a standing ovation from the fans. Nothing preplanned or artificial about it.
southsider2k5
I particularly liked the way that the Sox offense recognized Garland...
