chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) What happened? Rios misplayed a double that went over his head.
dyuen
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Ozzie either (1) didn't think Washington would bring in Oliver to face Dunn or (2) figured Dunn, at 0 for 31, was due. Either way, he's pretty stupid. amazingly i think that (1) is even more stupid than (2)

StrangeSox
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) But for some reason it's still defended by many for some inexplicable reason. I'm no longer surprised or angered by the defense of terrible managing. It's just as inexplicable as the terrible managing itself.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) How can you not counter-move with the lefty in to face Dunn? How??? Does not compute.. Because it's one of your top stars, who happens to be mired in a horrendous slump
Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) What happened? Rios got a terrible break on the fly ball and it went over his head for a ground rule double. Anderson would have had it.
Soxfest
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) God damn, Tony Pena again? Ozzie's trying to lose this game. Pena and his 6.27 Era are not even MLB roster worthy.
Harry Chappas
That was the worst piece of managing since the hit-and-run with Dunn at home a couple of games back. Dunn is not a situational small ball hitter yet the Ozeroo thinks he is. Managers are suppossd to put their players in the best poistion to succeed Guillne seems to get hem into the best position to fail McPherson than Vizquel is the right situation there as now McPherson is in the game anyway and Vizquel is the only bat on the bench. Tony Pena...seriously Guillen really does not care about this game.

Capn12
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) Because it's one of your top stars, who happens to be mired in a horrendous slump 0 (ZERO, NONE) for 31 against lefties isn't a slump, its a downright failure. And reasoning to not even let him attempt an AB.

The Ginger Kid
kind of funny that oz is changing pitchers when he blew his chance to manage in the top of this inning.

I don't think Ozzie was looking for Dunn to play small ball, I think he wanted Dunn to blast a ball somewhere deep to get the sac fly. Dunn, however, has no idea how to get a hit off of a LHP, so the obvious result was bad.

Dunn, however, has no idea how to get a hit off of a LHP, so the obvious result was bad. The problem was...he gave up an out by bunting AJ over to 2b, so yeah, he was looking to play small ball.
