Ok, then agree to disagree, because I think never giving him a shot to start is completely asinine.

Now there's a difference...you're saying "not giving him a shot to start is asinine"...which is something I might well agree with. But that would be an organizational choice, not reflecting on the draft pick itself.

The only reason why we'd never give him a chance to start is that we went 6 deep in starters without him. At which point, we had a choice...lock him in the minors forever as the 7th starter, or put him in the pen.

Walker wants to sign but staying consistent as a hometown kid committed to Utah."I definitely want to sign and start my career in pro ball .

However, it's ok to hold that fluke injury against the team when evaluating their draft performance.

I don't, and never had. I was ok with the Mitchell pick, and wanted him over Trout, who at the time was projected as Rowand 2.0.

this might have been posted already, but...

Sickels: 1-47) White Sox: Keenyn Walker, OF, Central Arizona JC: Blazing speed and greatly improved hitting skills, along with a solid glove, push him to the top of the White Sox draft list. I like Walker a LOT and he was on my list of players who could go earlier than expected. He's got some risk, but the reward could be huge.
