ChiliIrishHammock24
And just like that, game over. Thanks Pierre, give him his 3rd loss on the year.
maggsmaggs
How many losses does Juan Pierre have? And that looked foul...
fathom
Why in the hell would you throw him a fastball there? Ugh, terrible pitch selection. Truth be told, Santos looked awful in the 9th inning and should have never started this inning. Hey greg....THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T BUNT
Soxfest
Olivo blows no excuse to let that dumbass beat ya. Another bad lose.

fathom
QUOTE (TomPickle @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:03 AM) If it means the end of the Juan Pierre era it's totally worth it to lose this game. Yeah right, that little f***er has more job security than anyone.
BigSqwert
Doesn't Santos have awful stats whenever he is asked to come out for a 2nd inning of work?
caulfield12
Get Santos out of there. Don't leave him in like you did against the Dodgers. To hell with Pierre....just bench him and play Lillibridge everyday. No way in hell he doesn't make that play. I think Juan has cost us at least 3-4 games this season defensively. fathom
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:04 AM) Olivo blows no excuse to let that dumbass beat ya. Another bad lose. Olivo would be like the 5th best player on the Sox.
chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 10:04 PM) Why in the hell would you throw him a fastball there? Ugh, terrible pitch selection. Truth be told, Santos looked awful in the 9th inning and should have never started this inning. Hey greg....THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T BUNT Olivo's killed us in this game, mostly because they've given him pitches high and over the plate to hit. Jordan4life_2007
This will be a very deflating loss. Especially after Q's second HR that appeared to give us all the momentum. Not to mention the Indians and Tigers losing.
Soxbadger
It wasnt a bad pitch by Santos actually, Olivo just was better. The problem is that Pierre shouldnt be near a baseball field defensively. He makes playing the outfield look impossible. The optimal line up right now has Lilli over Pierre, have CQ in RF/DH and one of Dunn/Pierre rotating who the crappy lefty is. southsideirish71
Juan Pierre could bat .175 with a .205 OBP kicking the ball into the crowd every 3rd play and Ozzie would trot him out to LF because he is slappy and he fills his Marlins wantabee offense. This is a man who wanted Owens over Quentin. Only injury took that mistake away. NL baseball in the AL is not a winning formula.
fathom
One day, our catchers will realize that Santos fastball is his third best pitch. Throwing Olivo a first pitch fastball is simply pathetic.
maggsmaggs
Anyone else think that ball was foul? When they showed the replay, it looked close. Edited June 9, 2011 by maggsmaggs
Soxfest
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Olivo would be like the 5th best player on the Sox. That is not saying much.
chw42
Why is it that there's always one player Ozzie won't bench but is absolutely horrendous every single season?

Hey greg....THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T BUNT [/quote You don't bring the closer into a tied game and you don't pitch him more than one inning. Ozzie, the mastermind did both. caulfield12
Best candidate to "Tonya Harding" so we can DL them and collect insurance money for rest of 2011.... 1) Juan Pierre 2) Adam Dunn 3) Alex Rios 4) Jake Peavy (ooops, already on DL) 5) Mark Teahen
