I might take him as a new AAP, since a bunch of my guys (Dubler, Lucy, G Johnson) are non-prospects now, and Shirek is marginal at best. Then I saw he was drafted in Buehrle's round. Then I read about him a bit, and he actually looks intriguing. Huge improvement YoY. Anyway, found it kind of interesting that according to his twitter, he went up to Chicago on Jun 2nd and visited US Cellular field. One of his tweets reads... "Hit 97 on the stadium gun at US cellular " I assume he is talking about himself. But when I have looked up scouting reports for this guy, it says he throws about 91. And I looked up a scouting video from 2009, and it showed him only hitting 88. Could he really have ramped up his velo that much?
