Even if we get the next two it doesn't make up for letting wins get away from us that were in the bag...it is not like we are coming from a position of strength they need to win these games to get back into the race.

And yes the offense should have put more on the board but it really doesn't matter we gave up 4 runs in the ninth with only two hits against a bunch of .230 hitters and a call up, and a team that had lost 10 in a row and was defeated...

This is baseball. The 62 mets werent "defeated". No team is ever "defeated"

The same people who are b****ing that the season is over now will be the ones screaming that real fans (like themselves) can't get tickets to the post season games

Or the same ones who would have said SEE I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD COME BACK if the Sox actually did come back.

Relax everyone. It hurts, yes. Santos missed his location. Second game in a row, yes. But the posts about THE BULLPEN IS IN SHAMBLES or other stuff is ridiculous. Good night. Feel better tomorrow.

Not the end of the world...but every 10 days it seems we turn two very winnable games into losses..it is getting old. I can only imagine Ozzie is going to go off the handle after this one.

I think the thread should just close with the bolded part. I highly doubt anyone disagrees.

Wait, you don't think the bullpen is in shambles?

No, you continually s*** on this team so you can be the board contrarian. The only thing you're reliable at is being wrong about damn near everything.

Yeah, that's my ultimate goal. To standout on a message board against people I've never met before in my life.

It would certainly be nice if they could respond well to it. They didn't respond well to these losses earlier this year.

We won the Saturday and Sunday after the horrible Friday night loss to Tampa and the two games after the awful loss to the Dodgers.

He's had 3 blow-ups in about 2 weeks. He looked like someone with no confidence at all tonight.

I don't see this at all.

This game was over if AJ doesn't try and get cute.

No one on and up 2 runs with an 0-2 count. Throw the f***ing fastball. At least come back with it on 2-2 instead of tripling them up with it for ball 3.

Then the pitch selection to Matsui was curious too. Even the A's announcers were describing it as "questionable."

This one is on AJ more than Serge as far as I am concerned.

Dude, no denying it was a bad loss...but it's not the end of the world. I still feel good about this team and the way they've been playing for the last week or so.

So you fully expected a sweep?

This board has some of the more patient people in the world.

Wish my business accepted failure like you guys do.

Heads would have rolled in the real world by now. This team is a joke. A total joke.

I've noticed AJP seems to be more stubborn than ever with regards to attacking hitters. Just like Crain vs Cabrera from last week, AJ and the pitchers need to do a better job of setting up hitters.

Whenever we get something good going the bullpen blows the s*** up (beginning of the season Sox were playing quite good first 10 games and bullpen blows a handful of them) and now we got this s*** going on rite now.

Then honestly, why come back every night again and again.

If you can't handle the f***ing swings of professional sports, then go take up knitting.

Coming here to be debbie downer EVERY GOD DAMN NIGHT gets really old, Greg.

I don't get people saying the season is over. However, more than 2 months into the season, this 2011 team is still finding creative new ways to lose games. That's not a very promising theme to have. I have no doubt that the offense is improving, but they're still in a hole behind the Indians/Tigers due to their late inning struggles.

30 percent success as a hitter is considered great. Thats a 70 percent failure rate. This team will lose almost half of its games, thats 50 percent.

Your sales people are probably successful about somewhere in between, and I'm sure its tolerated. Nice correlation though.

Viciedo will be traded. That's the only logical reason he isn't up yet.

There will be an epic meltdown on here if that happens. However, I disagree that it's destined to happen. Ozzie just wants Pierre in the lineup instead of him.

That's bulls***. greg is refreshing. Why can't he choose, like me, NOT to give this team the benefit of the doubt whenever they choke on their own blood? This team doesn't deserve that. There's no recent history of this team overcoming adversity. This is a terrible loss and could definitely send them into a downward spiral.

I don't worry about the team heading into a spiral as much as I think it impacts the fan base. Let's face it, 21k at a Friday night game is PATHETIC. Our fans only show up for winners, and the more losses we have like this, the more our attendance will struggle.

Nothing negative is ever refreshing. Negative attitudes and energy are a disease, a virus.

The same goes for you!

You two probably both have stomach ulcers from all the gloom and doom you prognosticate on a daily basis. Or else you have raw genitals from all the masturbating you do when things are going poorly for us.

Either way, when you or Greg are posting s*** like "oh, they are definitely going to score now. Sergio can't get anyone out," how the f*** is that refreshing to anyone other than yourselves?

Personally, I don't think the bolded part is a big issue on here. That's at least talking about the game. Saying "we're never going to win again, this franchise sucks" is probably a better example. Just one pessimist's opinion.
