iamshack
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:27 PM) That's why I rarely gamble. Thanks Dad.
Balta1701
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) Thanks Dad. You kidding? My Christmas present growing up varied in quality in direct relationship to how my dad performed at the casino. I just hate losing for stuff like that. I think I wound up the opposite of my dad in that regard.

I'm honestly much more upset about the Sox losing the game in that fashion than I am the bet.
iamshack
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) You kidding? My Christmas present growing up varied in quality in direct relationship to how my dad performed at the casino. I just hate losing for stuff like that. I think I wound up the opposite of my dad in that regard. I live in Las Vegas and this is the first game I have bet on them all year. And it was just because I had no plans on a Friday night after working my ass off all week long. Of course it has to be a game where they implode with no one on and 2 outs. iamshack
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) Shack, youre suck a f***ing jinx. No s***. I honestly do avoid betting (other than the NFL) pretty well, just because of all the s*** you see when you live here. But sometimes it's just a form of entertainment just like anything else is. But when you lose, someone always has to jump in and tell you why you're such a degenerate.
PeavyTime
Anyone who makes a parlay bet combining two mutually exclusive events is an idiot. i.e. Rangers and White Sox

max power
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) If you're doing it for the fun, just go for the win. Never want the Sox to win and me to be pissed. Strategically, I doubt that the oddsmakers know the Sox and their struggles against rookies as well as we do, so I'd bet that history suggests the Sox would underperform. I had a few hundred dollars on the sox winning by 1.5 a few years back. They were up two going into the bottom of the ninth and Jenks got someone to pop up to left field. Scott podsednik lost the ball in the sun. They ended up winning by one. I was so pissed. Edited June 12, 2011 by MAX
