chw42
QUOTE (Yoda @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Can I admit and say that not one guy in our bullpen really has the "stuff" to make the other team think "we're screwed"? It was Santos before he started melting down recently.

Yes you can say that. But Sergio was good a while. BTW, Dejesus never steals bases and he's gonna try to clip one here.

At times several have looked like that guy. They just can't maintain it.

greg775
Crain battled back nicely! And take it back, you guys who wanted Thornton. Crain actually did a nice job.

Yoda
I'll admit that Santos is the guy to close things out (at least 90% of the time) but he showed last night that if his slider is not working then he's basically a one pitch pitcher and that fastball is nothing special. It's straight and very hittable.

caulfield12
Well....I guess the Lillibridge catch sort of cancels out the loss from last night. Baseball, an amazing game. Good job by Crain to come back from down in the count and man up instead of putting runners on 1st and 2nd with only 1 out.

greg775
Can you imagine how juiced our fan base would be if they sent Juan down and gave the lf job to Lilly/Dayan and Lilly spell Rios in center 2-3 times a week as well?

caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Crain battled back nicely! And take it back, you guys who wanted Thornton. Crain actually did a nice job. With what has happened on the field against Oakland with Thornton and Pierre this season, maybe Ozzie was wise to keep both of them off the field and try something different. This is one Ozzie "gut instinct" call on the closer for tonight that actually worked out. Now, for once, let's get to 2 games under .500 PLEASE. TheChrisSamsa
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) He threw way too many pitches. 38, probably about 20 too many to use him tonight. Ideally he gets tomorrow off too. Good win. Nice to see them win a tight game.

Danks and whoever had their victory saved in NY should chip in to buy him a new car. Take that, Torii Hunter. Heads22
Not quite sure why anyone's being rough on Crain, he's been pretty low on the list of concerns this year.

People don't forget the home runs he gave up to Cabrera and Suzuki to lose games for the team. He's been damn good otherwise, but people don't forget moments like those. He'll give up 4-5 games a year, but then he'll have games where he comes out and completely saves everyone's tail.
