When I heard these type of statements, I literally LOL'd. I would like everyone who said any of the following to admit it, call themselves some kind of deragatory term (as mild or harsh as you feel you deserve), and we can all move on while recognizing the sillies who say these kind of things and expect people to listen.

It's a slow Monday and I'm feeling good about our Sox (like I was a month ago looking at the Indians and Tigers above us and the Twins below us). The heat lost so I figured we're all in a good mood and sometimes it feels good to get these kind of things out there. Clear your conscious people and feel a new sense of excitement for these soon to be 2011 Central Division Champion Chicago White Sox!

Statements -

(1) The Cleveland Indians are for real

(2) The Indians are really hard to beat at home that's gonna make them tough to catch

(3) The Indians are legit

(4) The Indians will be good next year

(5) Travis Hafner is finally healthy they are dangerous

(6) The Indians finally have some pitching

(7) The White Sox are done

(8) The Red Sox are done

(9) The White Sox are too far back this time

(10) We can't make up all those games on the Indians AND Tigers

(11) The Detroit Tigers are good

(12) The Tigers are one of the best teams in baseball

(13) Our pitching blows

(14) Send (X player other than Juan Pierre) on the first train out of town

(15) Lillibridge sucks

(16-10,000) Any of the many silly things I missed regarding the Tigers, Indians, Red Sox, WHite Sox, or chubs.

I'll start it off because I am guilty of (15) and never believing in Lilli.

Dear Rowand's Rowdies, JJ Barea. That is all.

I'm guilty as hell of saying Lillibridge and Humber blow. I don't think either of them are this good, but they look like legitimate and good major league players, something I didn't believe coming into the year.

Definitely guilty of Lillibridge, and I still don't see him as a starter (he's on a hotstreak and you've got to see it out though).

Humber I thought would be a Carrasco type pitcher, he's turned into something much better but will probably settle in between a 3-5 starter (so Im guessing #4).

I don't either. I don't think it is any big coincidence that his numbers are coming down with his playtime going up.

The one thing I didn't know is that the guy is an incredible defender in the OF. Wow. If nothing else, he is an elite 4th OFer, just for his glove.

Not the point. It just sounds like the OP is trying to write off the Indians because of a slump, and then makes fun of people who wrote off the White Sox because of their slump.

Well he;s writing em' off due to the lack of talent to be in contention while you really couldn't write of the Sox cuz they had far superior talent.

Other than Heads and Joecool, nobody on this site thought Humber would be worth s***. And NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY!, thought Lillibridge would morph into a 2009 Ben Zobrist clone. So the haha I told you so bit doesn't fly. That said, the White Sox are in third place. They're still below .500. And they still have a lot of question marks. Let's wait until they're in first place by a few games before all the I told you so's start rolling in.

I was in the camp of not writing him off, and thought he could be OK. I know I had that very argument with you. Granted I didn't think he would be Cy Young, but hey.

And the Tigers? They are still ahead of us while we sit below .500. They've been better than us, and still are, on all accounts. OP infers they aren't a good team. I hate to see what that makes us then.

I felt like I was the only one in the Milledge Lillibridge thread choosing The Bridge. I've never been told I was stupid more in my life. I hope The Bridge keeps this up.

Guilty of thinking Adam Dunn was a horrible horrible signing, but man it sure is nice when he throws up a quick 3 runs.

Guilty of thinking Sale should be the closer. Never again will I think a lefty closer is a good idea.

Guilty of calling 2011 yet another version of Thome Dye corpseball. If it wins us the division then corpseball is ok in my book.

Thornton's failure had nothing to do with him being LHed, and everything to do with him suddenly becoming totally ineffective.

Thronton's failure is not only cuz of his lack of effectiveness but primarily the lack of any secondary pitches.

Obviously. But since most batters are RH his failure just makes it even more obvious that it's not a good idea with the game on the line.

Again, he's gotten people out for years without secondary pitches, the problem was suddenly his first pitch was totally being hammered.

Whoa are ppl actually thinking Lillibridge is the next upcoming of Zobrist. Not to take anything away from what Lillibridge has achieved this season with us so far but comparing him to the next Zobrist is a quite a stretch indeed. Now I hope this guy can maintain what he's doing and is a regular in the lineup and help the Sox win

9th inning is different from the 8th inning no matter what pitchers say.

Go look in the Catch-All thread, I had some slight optimism towards Humber, which you immediately tried to shoot down. :headbang

I did say Lillibridge sucked when he got called up though.
