Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Bynum's a walking injury at the ripe old age of 23. I can't imagine how poorly he's going to age. And he's a dickhead to boot. The Lakers should get rid of him. You don't need a true center to win in this league anymore. Not that I would deal him straight up for the 2, but I'd definitely deal him. True about his injury history. But the Lakers have probably a 1-2 year window in which to win another title while Kobe is still a top 5-ish player. He'll be 33 when next season starts and he's clearly not the player he was just a few years ago. No player they can take at #2 in this draft offers them more upside in the short-term than a healthy Bynum does.

Are there instances of a very injury prone player early in their career overcoming those and providing a stable 6 prime years?

Are there instances of a very injury prone player early in their career overcoming those and providing a stable 6 prime years? Not off the top of my head. And I know a center has a lot of value. I think Bynum's floor is around 15/10. If he didn't have to take such a backseat offensively to Kobe and Gasol, I think 20 PPG on elite efficiency would be a cinch. All I'm saying is the Lakers aren't playing for the future. There goal next year is to get back to the finals and win it. Nobody in this draft will help them accomplish that goal more so than Bynum. I think Deng has a much better chance of staying healthy

Jenksismyhero
Oof, that's such a slap in the face to Nash. Send the poor guy to a contender. He's given the Suns franchise how many years? And good years at that.

It is interesting to see Minnesota described as "reluctant" to give up the second pick, when all we have heard about is them trading it.

SoxFan1
I'm watching the 2001 NBA Draft on NBATV and it's simply depressing. Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler. Yuck. I remember I wanted Loren Woods in the 2nd round SO bad and we took Sean Lampley. Not than Woods was any good either.

Felix
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) Do you think any of the deals proposed have legs Felix? The one which to me makes the most sense for Minny is probably Marcin Gortat plus 13 for 2, although Gortat needs a good pick and roll PG to be effective. I'm sure plenty of them have legs in the sense that the Wolves are trying their hardest to get a difference maker for that #2 pick. Mostly, I think they're trying to move the #2 pick for a center and a lower pick that they can use on a shooting guard. I'm not convinced that's going to happen, though. I'd much rather just keep the pick, trade Beasley and move on. As to your comment about Gortat, Rubio is a good pick and roll PG...
Felix
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-w...t_rambis_062211 At least we don't have to worry about Rambis f***ing up Rubio now. sircaffey
Latest NBADraft.net's mock has the Bulls taking Singler and Norris Cole. Please no Singler. I couldn't stand looking at him for years.
sircaffey
Who does everyone want the Bulls to select with their 2 1st rds, realistically that is? Give me Josh Shelby and JaJuan Johnson, and I'd be ecstatic.

Felix
One way or another, I fully expect the pick to be traded. Probably won't get the type of return Kahn wants either, but I don't think he has the balls to take Williams with Beasley already on the roster.
