Ilyasova is also a banger down low and will back guys down. Those are things that Mirotic doesn't have in his game. At least not yet.

Ilyasova doesn't back guys down. At all.

And of course Mirotic doesn't have it yet. He's a youngster overseas and he chucks and grabs boards and averages under 8 ppg while doing so.

K, I'll go back to being mindless and annoying even though you haven't heard of Mirotic until Monday.

Of course I haven't. I think 90% of the world hasn't. But guess what? I can watch YouTube on this new invention called the internet. You also, by the way, haven't heard of him.

Sadly, you also knew little about Ilyasova before tonight, which is inexcusable, since he plays less than 90 minutes north of Chicago.

Actually, I know quite about about Ilyasova, and made it a point to draft him on all my fantasy teams. And being that Mirotic is Serbian and I keep tabs on our players all the time, I actually HAVE heard of Mirotic. But feel free to try and assert your dominance here.

FANTASY

Lol, ya caught me! I have no clue who Ilyasova is! Hell, I don't even know what country he's from, let alone his style of play. And Serbians? God knows I never talk about them! Silly me. I'll go back to my corner now and do some research on why Lebron James won't ever sign with the Heat. Effin' Christ.

Google is fantastic.

Listen, you are clearly captain douche when it comes to internet argument. Neither of us knows how good Mirotic will be, but I'd venture being better than Ersan f***ign Ilyasova is tough to do. Let alone being as good as Andrea motherf***ing Bargnani. Keep playing the martyr, and I'll just ignore the rest of your posts, k?

Do whatever you want, buy you're the one spewing the hyperbole again. Andrea Bargnani is not that good. He shoots, A LOT, and doesn't do a whole lot more. But of course, you know FOR SURE that he has no chance of becoming Andrea Bargnani despite knowing nothing about him. Mirotic won the Rising Star Award in the Euroleague, something Andrea Bargnani once won. DraftExpress had him as the 7th best overall prospect in the draft. But I'm just silly for thinking he could be any good.

I like the use of "hyperbole". That's quite original right now.

Listen, we all get it. Your family hails from the great Serbia. Guess what? My family is from Germany. s***! 4 generations ago! OMG I is Dirk expert!

Oh wait, no I'm not. Just like your amazing access to YouTube (exclusive? Nahhh) makes you nothing short of Soxtalk's Serbian fanboy. It is ok though. We all get it. You are angry and yelling and Lord knows I have been there and done that.

At the end of the night, the Bulls took Mirotic simply because they did not have to pay him, and not because he could be anything like Bargnani, the former #1 overall (only because he was supposed to be similar to my family's countryman Dirk).

So, seriously, get off your high horse and let's chat in half a decade.

I don't understand this at all. I'm not angry at all, nor am I yelling. You obviously haven't the slightest clue about anything that has to do with Mirotic. The Bulls must have traded for Asik a couple years back because they didn't have to pay him...even though he was a 2nd rounder, right??? You are stating your opinion as fact with no empirical evidence to back up ANY of your claims, all while admitting you know absolutely nothing about Mirotic. Well done.

And to recap, I'm annoying, co-cheese?, mindless, captain douche, a martyr, Serbia's Fanboy AND on my high-horse. All that in a little over an hour. I'm impressed.

However, sober Steve would like to point out that I was all over the Asik pick and thought it was brilliant. I am however very disinterested in anything Bulls that doesn't feel like a win-now move, even if there won't be a season this year!

Ilyasova is also a banger down low and will back guys down. Those are things that Mirotic doesn't have in his game. At least not yet. This is what I'm trying to tell you. Right now, his game most resembles Bargnani. As in a big man who spends most of his time on the perimeter and wont get you much more than 5 or 6 rebounds a game. Mirotic hustles way more than Bargnani though. No reason to think he can't develop into Bargnani, who is 5 years older.

Ilyasova's not a bad player. I'd say he's not that much worse than Bargnani if you give him as many touches as Bargnani gets.

I haven't watched him that much, but from the splits, he is pretty much just a jump shooter. 73% of his shots are jump shots. 27% come from the inside. Those kind of splits aren't what down low bangers do.

I didn't say he was a banger more than anything, but he gets dirty down low. He'll scrap and bang downlow. His game is as a jumpshooter, there's no doubt about that. But Mirotic's potential is much better than Ilyasova's. He's got a much better jumper.

Stockpiling tradeable assets = a win now move :headbang

The Bulls showed some interest in Fernandez last year before settling on Keith Bogans. The Blazers weren’t motivated to move him then.

So the decision to trade Fernandez caught many by surprise, maybe even the Bulls.

This deal was part of the guard swap sending Andre Miller to Denver and Raymond Felton to Portland, so it’s not clear if the Bulls could have made a similar bid. But obviously there’s not a big difference between the Nos. 28 and 43 picks and what Dallas gave up.

The Bulls never made a serious bid for Fernandez, according to league sources. He averaged 8.6 points last season for Portland, shooting just 37 percent overall and 32 percent from 3-point range.

The thinking on draft night was not to bother reaching for a rookie with potential. Butler is a four-year college player who may be able to play an effective role as an aggressive defender and backup to Luol Deng.

A true championship contender can’t afford to waste much time on rookies. So rather than have Brooks, Shelvin Mack or Travis Leslie sit and watch next season, the Bulls went in a different direction.

By doing nothing to address the shooting-guard spot, the Bulls made a clear statement that they will be aiming for bigger names whenever the presumed lockout ends and the real off-season begins.

A trade always is possible, but the most obvious move is to chase Orlando’s Jason Richardson or Denver’s J.R. Smith in free agency. Both are expected to seek new homes, but until there’s a new collective-bargaining agreement, the Bulls won’t know if they’ll have money to spend.

Richardson, 30, is a mature player who has made the playoffs just three times in 10 NBA seasons. Smith, 25, is talented but erratic. The Bulls probably believe a veteran team with championship aspirations could keep him in line.

By adding Fernandez, Dallas might not bring back free agent DeShawn Stevenson. But he’s essentially a younger version of Bogans, averaging 5.3 points and shooting 37.8 percent from 3-point range last season.

Come on, Denver had the veterans and championship aspirations and Smith was just as big as an asshat as he always was.

I want JR Smith. He would be an excellent second creator on offense and would fill our offensive void at SG nicely. Character issues be damned, give me talent.

Ugh, JR Smith would be a huge problem here.

Give me JR over a "chemsitry guy" who can't put the ball in the hoop.

As opposed to another guy who has to be benched for long stretches in important junctions of the game? No thanks. No more Boozers.
