Over like 20 years. That's how desperate he is for funds, he's willing to give up any tv revenue growth over 2 decades.

He's getting $385 million upfront. $150 million would go to his divorce. The team gets an immediate $235 million shot in the arm. He'd be sitting pretty. McCourt is probably the only owner Bud wouldn't allow this.

McCourt is most likely an ass, but Bud and his brothers approved him for membership. Now they should treat him like everyone else.

I doubt they'd approve this sort of cash pullout and debt accumulation for any team. MLB has rules on debt accumulation and the dodgers blew through it.

Where is the additional debt here?

What else would you call money given out early in exchange for an extremely long term contract. Might not be booked as debt but that's all it is. Fox is loaning on future tv revenues.

They wouldn't owe Fox anything. Fox would still owe them. Its only about 2 years of the Fox deal.

Unearned Revenue for the Accounting 101 guys.

Think of all the debt Dunn, Rios and Pierre accumulate every time they cash a paycheck. Just a play on words.

Unearned Revenue is considered a liability until it is earned. Depending how the contract is structured it might be "earned" fairly quickly.

I know what it is, but unless you see the terms of the agreement you don't know when that $385 million is considered earned.

Could be true, might be some exaggeration Bud had someone throw out there.

July 3rd according to Beatnik and Kalapse, let's say July 5th to be on the safe side.

If he isn't called up between the 3rd and the 7th - heads are gonna roll on this site. :D :headbang

I am starting to believe that the only way that Viciedo gets up is if KW can move CQ. If JP is taken out of the lineup Ozzie is going to play De Aza or Lilli in LF to get his speedy leadoff guy at the top of the line-up. Dunn is not getting benched in favor of anyone. Viciedo could swap places with Morel but it sounds like the organization is committed to him being an OF.

I think KW has a couple of deals up his sleeve, I think he will move one of the SP's (Danks) rather than relegating one to the bullpen and will move Quentin to open a spot for Viciedo and in making one of those moves will include Pierre and bring back another LF candidate.

I seriously doubt that. He'll be up next week and wind up playing about 2 games per week the rest of the way with a PH here or there mixed in.

WOw at those numbers above. How the f*** can you not inject your BEST minor league player who also happens to be one of the best hitters if not the best in his league into your offense which is muddling around at league avg. It makes ZERO f***ING SENSE. I know KW wants him up, so when is it the time when he overrules Ozzie>?

The situation is mind-boggling to say the least.

What's really scary about Viciedo is his numbers after April when he was coming back from that fractured thumb.

May - .349 / .410 / .615 / 1.025

June - .377 / .400 / .547 / .947

"But where would he play?!?"
