caulfield12
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) Ladies and gentlemen...We could very well be looking at our 'ace' going into next year. Who, Humber? He's starting? Because he's had all quality starts and the two that weren't, he only gave up 4 in both those games. Although against the Twins, he'd probably give up 7-9 runs in the first inning.

Jordan4life_2007
Gavin's 2009 ERA vs Twins: 5.27 Gavin's 2010 ERA vs Twins: 8.06 This shouldn't be all that surprising. Though this lineup is similar to the Jordan Danks-led Charlotte Knights.

fathom
The Twins pitch our hitters the same way every single year. High and in with the fastball, low and away with offspeed pitch. That has as much to do with their success against us than anything else.

greg775
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 01:53 AM) Well that should just about do it tonight for another summer heartless effort by the sox. You could strap a twins uni on some girl scouts and they would frighten and beat our team. That is a good point. If you put the entire Twins AAA team on the field and let them use a ML pitcher, would they still own the Sox? Maybe so. Sox can't touch the Twinks. Don't know what it will take for it to change. Sox look beaten already with their little pop ups and weak grounders compared to good, grinder baseball.
caulfield12
Well....I'd almost rather lose 8-1 against Minnesota than having Santos and the season shattered by blowing a 2-3 run lead in the 9th. Maybe we can slowly peck our way back into this one instead of our usual losing the lead in the last 3 innings trick. I'm just thankful that we can't have two THREE game sweeps on our record....when you lose a series 0-2 it doesn't seem so bad psychologically. southsideirish71
Yup and here is the wearing out of the left side and some occasional popups. The Sox are behind the Twins and have put it into cap tipping mode. If we cant beat this crappy lineup, wait until they get their full strength team. They must wait every year for us to come up so they can just beat us to death. We are their jumping off board for the summer.

Rendon the year after that. AND I've read they'll be a major player for Prince Fielder come winter. And that contract will be the worst in baseball the back half of it...but they really do have a chance to do some damage while Fielder's 28-32. I still wouldn't pay $200 million to a 1B unless it was Pujols in his prime. AJ has now thrown out 7/52 on the season, including 1 for CoCo Crisp out at home. High and in with the fastball, low and away with offspeed pitch. That has as much to do with their success against us than anything else. Thats because our team goes into hero mode the minute we go down. They scratch a few early runs, then allow us to get ourselves out. We are a wildly undisciplined team.
